High,

has anybody out there grown AK47 by serious seeds? i got a pack today and was looking for threads on it which are few and far between on here.

the ones i found did'nt have much about phenotype apart from 'cherry pheno' and no information on stretch etc.

so if you grown it please post up some information and pictures.

cheers!

Excellent choice. I'm sure you won't be dissapointed. AK is one the best you can get. I grow out the AK48 which is supposed to be F2's of AK47. It was the most potent stuff I've grown so far. Tasty too.

thanks for the pictures. can you tell me a little bit more about your grow.

how many seeds did you pop? how many males and females. how long did you flower for, what size is your lamp.

cheers!

i have my last seed that turned out female.and i bought a pack of ak48 becues seriouse has been out.i did take clones its a strong fat budded plant.good choice

(2004) Germ'd 10 seeds, got 4 fems, all similar in structure and effect, 8 weeks to flower, big yielder, easy to grow, a little stinky, uhhh, light hogs, average nute uptake, tight internode branching, very bushy, yet bigger than most strains. Grown in soil, organic_ish, under 800 hps watts, 65-70 ph, 85 degrees F.

I felt that overall, the buzz was “so-so”, nothing great.

(2006) I have isolated three separate phenos from my last three packs of the AK, and am currently growing clones from each in an attempt to find the “more potent” pheno.

Here is a recent shot of the AK pheno #1
More to follow, look for new thread soon

thanks guys. I came across a site (seedsman.com) that has a wealth of strain linage on it, not a bad site.

here's what they claim as the linage for AK47 - Columbian, Mexican, Thai & Afghani, that's some mix!

i read that AK47 has more afgani in it now than it did back when it was first concieved.

can anybody comment on this?

keep the pictures & information coming guys!

really appreciate it.

i grew it out, my first grow. and i didnt grow it to its full potential i think. but i can confirm what a lot of people say, the buds arent as tight as you would expect from reading some descriptions. the smell is weird though in the dried buds, and actually quite sharp. but after a cure its more of a fruity smell to me, that didnt smell like fruit...but for some reason the word "fruit" seems like th eonly way i can describe it. i flowered at about 10-11" and they frew to about 24" or so IF i remember right lol. the high was pretty good, definatly better on some plants than others...but what would you expect from a new grower. all plants though, were pretty close in looks and growth pattern. i would love to try and grwo this strain again, since i know a lot more after my frist grow and think i can do much better to grow it to its potential. btw, mine, werent as stinky as the breeder description would have you believe (in flowering)

the indaca pheno smelled like shit .but it put your head in the dirt power high tight buds .the sativa pheno smelled fruity and was airy .but gave a more head rush and long high.i would keep both phenos .so if i whanted a couch high i would smoke the indaca if i whanted a day high i would smoke the sativa one.

Ak-47 is a good strain from Serious.
The White Russian from Serious though i dont care for. Very fluffy bud but the Ak-47 has some nice tight hard nuggets.
If your lucky you may find a cherry pheno AK.
I dig Serious Seed breeder packs.

I love the stuff. I started growing it back in "99" with my first pack from Serious Seeds via Heavens Stairway.
I set a bunch of seed and pop a few f2's every couple of grows. The F2's seem to be very much like the original breeding.

Neville his-self snuck into pre-soviet Afghan to the “Mazar e Sharif” region to acquire seeds. Hash from this area was some of the best in the world. This is a tale all by itself.
Neville snuck into the region, at great danger to himself. Warlords and guns ruled. Life was cheap. Neville contacted growers, and, to the locals amazement, bought seeds rather than hash.

AK47, vintage 99, exhibits an indica and sativa phenotype. The sativa phenotype was considered by many the strongest. In the real world there isn't much difference.
The only time I had hermies was when I flowered before eight weeks.
Seedlings flowered at eight weeks, after a week of 12/12, finish at fifty five to sixty days, taste like sandalwood and knocks your socks off.

nice buds Swerve. well coming from someone who grows the kush that's some vote of confidence! sounds like i'm in for some nice plants.

Omar i heard that white russian was pretty nice but was told AK is a better overall plant. i read alot about the 'cherry pheno' the term was coined at overgrow i think, can't remember the grower name that its normally associated with.

Harpo looks like you've had success with the AK. thanks for the history of the afghan used. do you know if the other genetics used also came from Neville? any information about what the 06' AK should offer? Is it now more indica than sativa?

thanks again!

you guys are a wealth of knowledge
