Bill O'Reilly took a poll on legalizing weed. You'll never guess what happened next.

I think cannabis should be legal to cultivate and the government should stay out of it all together. Nurseries should sell seeds and clones. Just a simple grow your own mentality.
But each state will strangle the crap out of it with taxes and restriction.

I'm really surprised these Fox polls aren't fixed. I'm more surprised about that than the result. I really think this Colorado thing is making it more and more appealing to everyone. More tax paid, no more wasted on fighting it, lower crime. Who can say that's not good for your state?

Normally if Bill O said the sky was blue, I'd have to stick my head outside just to be sure. But I give him credit for providing the results, even if he himself disagrees with legalization and thinks there will be unintended consequences. He's a gasbag, and I don't like him, but he just did us all a good service. He could have claimed the opposite and plenty of his viewers would have believed it.

Fox news hired some reporters to do a story on a cattle drug that made milk cows produce more milk (the drug is now off the market because of harmful side effects and contaminating ground water with carcinogens). The reporters wanted to tell how bad this drug was but fox news said to redo the story and say there are no harmful effects. The reporters refused to change the story and fox news took them all the way to the Florida supreme court and won. What fox news won was the ability to tell lies and call it the news, and not just call it opinion. Prior to this ruling for fox news, their news had to be fact. Any reporter before this would be called out and have their reputation damaged, and more often than not lose their job, if they reported lies.

Awesome! Thanks for this eye opening post! O' Reilly's poll results are a solid sign of the times. I wonder if the results had any effect on his own opinion of marijuana legalization.
