Thats what it was was a hydrohut silver edition. Built like a tank. The zippers were heavy duty also. The stitching was fine on mine even after multiple tear downs and setups over the course of a couple years. the top looked similar to the picture but without the angle drop down brackets. Comes with plenty of cinch pull straps for hanging equipment also

Thank you

I have it narrowed down between the two.
Hydrohut or Gorilla!
Both extremely high quality tents especially compared to the others in the market.
It seems it comes down to do I need a Heavy duty roof and compare the other features?
I do get nervous when I think about my light falling on the girls...that happened way too many times.
But:
Is it worth the extra money?
Need to reflect now!
Looking for my thinking strain.....where did I put that mind clearing Sativa???

Oh yea! time to think now!

Thanks to all!

those poles look cheap to me on the hydrohut. I have two tents, an Apollo 4x4 and a Quictent 5x5. Both have steel all the way through, corners and all and the top rods are much fatter than those. Currently im hanging a raptor 6 light and filter from the top of mine with no problems. The Gorilla is the best but its very expensive overall. You'll be happy with it either way.

I really like the easy setup and the spring locking poles...360 wrap around sides make it look simple.
Real life it may be different?

Hight extension looks cool, but I may not need it.

they all set up super easy its like assembling a camping tent. literally anyone can do it. The height extension is a big thing the gorilla tent offers over any other, if you plan on growing them tall then get the gorilla as long as 3x the price of other tents is worth it to you. Im also dealing with height issues right now and part of me wishes i got one but damn theyre pricey. Otherwise the jardin, apollo, hydrohut or others will all do what you need.

Try to visualize your setup with pics of all the tents and figure out which works best for your light and ducts and fans and how you will access it and whatnot.

Thanks that is very good advice!
I have to look into the way I want to set up and make sure what I buy best fits my needs.

I better get what I need not what I want, as I have done so many times in the past...ARRGH!

I thought I made my decision but now I have to revisit this again.
I need to get the right one the first time!
Looks like i am puttin my nose back to the grindstone!

Thanks scrappy
We need to hang out since scooby ain't around..LOL

I checked around for cheaper tents and went to Gorilla's site it would seem they have a NEW LITE line which is the cheaper tent, like every other tent company, but you can still raise these tents a foot, and they're very cheap!

Gorilla Lite

Steel corners,extended roof....cheaper too.
This may be just what I need.
I still have to plan for fans and filters and stuff so I am not ready to pull the trigger yet!

But it is lookin good!

Hell ya man you know I'm always down for a sesh. :smoker:

I've looked into those Gorilla lite tents. Just be aware they use 210D material which is real thin so they would prob rip easier and leak light easier. That was the only thing that concerned me when I checked'em out. But I have no experience with them. If I was gonna go with gorilla I'd get the original. They're expensive, but gonna last a long time. If I had the cash that would be first choice I haven't seen any that compare with that quality.

Those agro-max look ideal to me nice and strong, 600D material, lots of features, and pretty cheap. I was looking into the stacker models so I can conserve space. I'm gonna go to the HTG store on monday there's on a couple towns over from me and check them out, see how the quality is. Not a huge fan of HTG but those tents look good.

There's some other tent reviews on youtube fyi if you haven't been there already.

I have never seen a gorilla but read nothing but good things. I on the other hand own a hydro hut(built VERY WELL, STRONG Canvas) Secret Jardin(nice, thin canvas but over all happy with the purchase) Grow Lab( like it better than SJ but not as well as HH.

Thanks to all!
I think I will go for what appears to be the Cadillac.
The Gorilla seems to be the best but top dollar too.
Just gotta find the the deal of the day.

I just completed the setup of a 10x10 gorilla tent. There are a few minor flaws, Velcro in the wrong places, zipper goes in a different direction than I would want.....but the thing is well worth the money and is top quality. The fit on the frame is perfect!!!

I would've said the Secret Jardin too, but I recently got a DR120 v2 and was disappointed with how many threads were coming undone and how much light shined through the zipper. The quality is much worse than my DR90 from years ago and needs a lot of patching.

Maybe it was a bad one, but it did also came missing part which was later replaced by the retail store. But still - not what you want on a tight grow timeline.

Just my 2 cents.

You're totally right. I have had one SJ tent and I have the same experience as you. They used to be good when they where manufactured in France. Now SJ has moved their production line to Morocco and the quality of these tent went downwards.

If you're doing it on the cheap, consider making your own. It's not that hard if you do a little pre-planning, and you can end up with exactly what you want.

Black plastic sheeting, visqueen, whatever you call it, is between $10 and $25 a roll, and one roll would be enough for three tents.

Go with Gorilla trust me. I have a 10X10 and a 5X5. The down side to them is getting them on the poles. There is not much xtra and its the tight fit so may need to wrestle with them. Other than that the poles, corners, the material itself, the stiching is TOP NOTCH. Mine is 3 years old and no threads have come loose, no zipper failures. Are they a bit spendy? Yes, but do you want a high class hooker or a hood rat is how i look at it.

I have a 85 lb can for air filter hanging from the ceiling of the 10X10 plus another 80 lbs of LED lites. Things are built like a tank. The main reason I went gorilla is for the heighth, I am DWC and a 7 foot tall tent is perfect for how I grow. I do not grow 24 inch tall plants rather they top out close to 4 foot tall.

Spend the money and in 3 years you will thank yourself

I forgot to put this in, BUT Gorilla will custom make a tent to your specs for size, want a divider wall so can veg in part and flower in the other part of it, want an odd size what ever you want Gorilla will make it for you.
