And yet I am going to buy more for you rascals! At least it's just base nutrients.

Why not use CalMag+ [has N] in place of PBP grow as needed? -granger

Don't tease me!

I mean, I have some Green Planet Dense 0-0-62. I could just use some of that, maybe some of this 3d-organics 0-53-0 bone meal, some Cal-Nitrate... And then I'll need some humates and a little kelp... and some epsom too!

No! Bad Crash!
No Cal-Mag Soup for you.

Base Nutes all the way baby!

Ha, it's hard to stick with base nutes when you have cabinets full of bottles and bags of other crap to add:biggrin: I'm trying hard to replicate Coconutz 6/9 right now. GH micro and bloom at 6/9 all the way through, no lowering micro or increasing bloom. Nada- 6/9 till the end. I'm ending week 4 now and the urge to add or change crap increases every week:biggrin: I quit using the pinch of Epsom in flower and that was hard to do. Actually I'm not really base nute only because I still use silica at 1.5ml/gal and drip clean at 1ml/gal for the blumats. My motivation isn't just to run simple base nutes though, I want a easy simple , cheap nutes that both plants in veg and flower can eat from 1 rez with blumats.

Hey Snow Crash,

I may join you in this challenge as well. Being a FFOF user for the past 3 years, I've recent come to appreciate coco as a medium (esp for seed starting) and would like to join you in this base nute adventure :)

I've had maxiG/B for the past year but rarely feed with it since my soil is rich and hot already, usually just a couple nute feeds per phase of growth (plus some protekt & calmag here and there). However if I truly switch to coco for the plants full life cycle, old habits need to be broken.

Anyways tagged at a minimum and excited to see the results :)
All the best,
Budelight

I think Coconaughty used the gh chart at the end and cut micro in half or used cns17 ripe for a week before giving them tap/ro mix the last few days

It wasn't cns17 added to the formula.

Cutting N early is a myth
1/2 strength feeds and fading micro fucks my plants up!
The buds always fade and look like shit...
From now on when my plants look done I give them just bloom, or cns17 ripe for a week and then pure water for a few days.
Im waiting for the buds to look ripe before I drop 6/9 and then they dont care if theres any N at all

Also posted this GH chart and said following that at the end is pretty much the same except cns17 was easier/quicker to mix for less plants instead of 2 res

I've been running CNS17 Ripe in a really similar way to that for a few years now as well.

The new formula they have out contains Calcium. This makes it a little different from Overdrive and a little more like what GH is suggesting. I'm torn on the subject and will have to let the test decide if that was a good move for the line.

I imagine it will be hard, but try your best to ditch the boosters. I have had far and away the fastest most consistent dankest growth with a very simple base program. Actually owe it all to coconutz, and SnowCrash had some other environment issues that held me back but with a perfect environment I am now seeing growth that I never would have imagined possible.

I planned on flushing for 3-4 days. Where does he say he cut the micro and added cns17? I also discussed it in PM with him as well as on this page right here:
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=284122&page=49
I believe he means he was using like 2.5 micro 8 ml's bloom at the end. Also FWIW I can pretty much guarantee you he used that ratio but he adjusted the ec to what he thought the plants could handle. Watching the plants is the best thing you can do. After that 3-5 days plain water.

Oh well, doesn't matter. I got 6 weeks left in bloom. If I can make it till the end with just 6/9 I will, if I need to handwater in some boost it's no biggie. I don't aim for perfection, simple/awesome will work for me

The recipe with the once a week bloom boost increases yield for sure.
I think the goal was to use plain 6/9 to get everything under control and then dial and tweak out the program however you like once you can quantify any changes observed.
There has to be notes taken and a sort of control group to compare against to observe anything.
What people miss is that they don't really know what that bottle does until they have and haven't used it with the same dialed program/environment

I wouldn't have a cabinet full nutes if I hadn't tried them all every which way. h3ad said at the end of his thread he feeds 6/9 till week 4, then 6/12 in week 5, after that he just uses 0/9 for a few weeks then flushes with water for another two weeks prior to harvesting. Rez was the one that started pimping the 3 blasts of boosters. I don't believe anything that came out of his mouth. I'll see how far I can take 6/9. Base nute thread!!!!!:tiphat:

Calling me out!

Yeah yeah yeah... Alright. I'll toss some pictures at you later tonight.

Seeds arrived on Wednesday. I decided that using 6 of these precious things was a bit excessive. Hell, they cost like $9 each! So there are now 4 of them germinating away in some Horticubes at home.

I've never used Horticubes before but they look decent enough and I wanted to give them a try. I have my very first AutoFlowering plant in there too, a freebie from DinaFem I think. Cannot remember the name at the moment... lol. When I clone I'll probably be using just straight CocoGro unless you guys want to see me use the RootCubes or RootCube+, I have a 6 pack of each. And a big as sheet of some new rockwool, so I can clone into that too if you want :)

Anyway, there isn't much going on just yet. This is all future talk.

I'm thinking that once they hatch I'm going to try and use up some of this CANNA Coco A+B to veg out the mother plants. It is familiar to me and I think it's going to be important to hit the ground running with the time table being so tight to get the clones I'll be needing. Still using pure Botanicare CocoGro though, and keep it simple with the A+B and some GH - Rapid Start.

Secret Jardin is coming out with these sweet new tents that I want to replace my current DR90 with. It is a 3x3 with a 1x3 second room added onto the side (3x4x5 total) for cloning and keeping mother plants. If all goes well, I might be able to keep this strain around in the mother chamber. Then again, I could probably grab a GL60 for like $80... I am cheap so... probably that.
