Storz-Bickel Plenty Vaporizer owners

Good day, fellow stonies! I'm getting up there in years, and really need to give my lungs a break. I was looking seriously at the Volcano, but really do not want to fuss with the bags. Love the manufacturing and overall quality/results of the Volcanos, saw the Plenty, and hope it's a worthy option. Who out there has one, or has used one regularly? I'm a pretty heavy toker, especially at night and on weekends.
Thanks all! :tiphat:

i have a volcano, but don't use it much at the moment, every time i do take it out i love it. but i hear there are better options out there if you are willing to spend. there are a couple of threads where vaporizer old and new are talked about, you just have to find them.

I've got both the Plenty and Volcano so happy to chip in.

The Plenty:

Pros.

The first draw is insanely tasty! Best way to really taste a strain.
Incredibly strong delivery system
Silent
Closer to smoking in effect - still not the same though

Cons

Only the first draw is tasty, then it tastes like vaped weed, and it tastes of it strongly.
With any potent weed it's a little too strong
It uses a lot of weed when full, but you can use a spacer
The spacer is a pain to clean
Doesn't feel like it would survive many falls

Volcano

Pros

Brilliant way to get high
Very efficient
Works well with strong weeds
Lasts a lifetime

Cons

A bit noisy
Takes a while for the bag to fill
Hits differently to smoking - more heady

Basically I use the volcano most of the time. Maybe i just haven't found a strain that works with the plenty, but sativas go quickly to the paranoid stage. But I could imagine medical users who need high quantities could appreciate it.

Get the volcano, but don't stop smoking. Vaping doesn't replace the effect of smoking. But a bong hit then a vape works really well.

After using the Volcano for 6 years and around 10 pounds of my grown buds(1000w Quantum + Super Sun 2) I don't smoke much at all and my lungs and throat are in better shape for the change
I set the Volcano to 9 and the taste is as strong as smoking just remember with the Volcano to keep the top chamber screen clean, the 3 inch ones that fit can be bought on-line many places(E-Bay,Amazon)fairly cheap
the initial cost is the barrier for some but worth the extra as the unit is very durable and you can expect long term use with just bag replacement(alternative rebuilds can use the valves and turkey baster bags or a good pliable tubing length for a direct to mouth hitter)

I research the plenty as I wasn't aware of this model so I can't critique it for you,it looks interesting if you need mobile

yeah i'm still rocking the volcano classic from 2005 only needed to be serviced once in storz and bickel Oakland service center once they tuned it up for free they stand behind their product. I'm a heavy user and that thing stays on pretty much all day when i'm at home. Its worth every penny.

Like it a lot and there's also an optional screen to use it with waxes/oils etc :)

Hey, thanks for posting that, b8man. As I said, I don't want to mess around with bags, or I'd get the Volcano in a hot second:yummy: I saw a glass dome attachment that looked very, very sweet, but that's getting a little out of hand for someone new to vaping. I just want something simple that I can leave on my desk or workbench, and hit on and off all evening. Oh, and nah lol, I would never retire my glass!! Love my bong, just looking for a much healthier option! I went ahead and ordered the Plenty, which should arrive before the weekend. While I love my sativas, I'm much more of a heavy indica smoker. Looking forward to experimenting with various strains and heat settings. i really appreciate everybody chiming in. I'll try to post a decent review after I've fiddled around with it a bit.

I start on about 5 to really appreciate the flavors then edge up towards 6 if i'm feeling adventurous. After 7 it dries my throat out so much it can be sore for weeks. Have a glass of water handy.

There's also a chart somewhere if you search google (not sure I can link here) that tells you the different effects you get at the different temps. Good to know.

Hello,
that would be very helpful, I'm just thinking of getting a Plenty. Volcano's too expensive and the Plenty is said to have a truly superb thick vapour. Can't wait to read your review.
And please don't forget to test it also with sativas:)

Cheers
