125w CFL Bagseed Grow - Newbie Summer Bud Contest

This is my entry into the Newbie Summer Bud Contest. Its a bagseed of a specific strain unknown to me, that I collected a handful of in spring 2013.

I grow in Fox Farm Ocean Forest mixed with 1/3 perlite in a 5 gallon pot on the top shelf of my closet. I run 125w of cfl (3x23w warm spectrum, 1x23w cool spectrum, 1x33w warm spectrum) in an area 24in x 18in x 30in. I water with tap water and have used no nutes yet. I will be adding bootstrap molasses to the water for the end.

I topped the plant twice starting early in the grow, and LST'd throughout the grow. Now I have a nice little bush. It is about 20in in diameter. and I'm on day 30 of flower.

Hey thanks! I started growing last summer. This is the third female plant I've ever had, and by far the best one yet. I've just been poppin seeds from a great bag of mids I got last year. I had 12 seeds from it and this is the last one. I started her on April 30th and just finished week 5 of flowering today. I am guessing its going to go about 10 weeks.

I am not dialed in all the way but I am pretty close. The last girl got chopped at 8 weeks and I thought another 2 weeks would have made it better.

I am guessing it is going to be about a week and a half from now. Right now my trichomes are 20 to 30% clear. 8 weeks is up on Thursday and I am going to let her run at least one more week and a probably a bit more. I will probably carry through to around 70 days.

The last lady was a decent yielder all things considered. This run the phenotype is a little different. The buds are smaller, but look way better all around. I am pretty excited for the finish. I thought I could get a couple oz. but looking at it this late I only see around 1. Here's a couple more pictures.

This is very cool NoSoc, I'm surprised 125w is producing such good sized bud.

Good job, how's she smoking? What was your final yield?

Even the quick dried stuff I smoked was really good. It has a candy sort of flavor, like smarties. It has a good head high. You really feel it in your forehead and eyes, but its not super uppity. I nice balanced smoke, that's stronger than I really thought it would be.

I haven't weighed everything yet, the buds are still drying. Yield was a little disappointing. I was originally shooting for 2 oz. and I would guess I got around 30-34 grams. I am going to weigh when its dried and I'll have to guess based on how much I have taken. I can't keep my sticky fingers off of it lol.

You get your final dry yield weight? I know what you mean about not waiting. I'm normally extremely patient when it comes to the chop, but this year I been having a itchy trigger finger. 2 a the ladies have caught the blade, so I wouldn't keep picking on the bottoms of them all. Sometimes you just can't help yourself. You can check them all out in my sig. Have 16 lovely bagseed ladies left and counting down til the harvest. Them buds a yours still treating you right or they all gone already? What was the cured flavor like?

I still have 2g that's in a jar. I'll keep it there and smoke it someday soon. I weighed 21g. I am honestly guessing by the amount I took from that, around 30g overall including larf.

The taste is very nice. It has a floral smell with really thick smoke that tastes sweet. Like smarties sweet. The flavor lasts in your mouth and nose for a long time. That taste is why I wanted to grow out the strain. It isn't ridiculously strong (but still pretty strong) but it has one of those flavors you really enjoy.

Sounds like you came across some good stuff. The potency might've been there if you let her go longer. If you have a clone, maybe give her another run. She can only get better..
