I personally think closed loop u soak for too long, getting a darker product I like to blast open ended , purge then into vac oven,..... ,question to you guys who use closed loop systems , could u use stuff that's been blasted once already to see what if any is left ?, I could use that darker oil for different apps.,

the oil shouldn't be darker then the hillbilly method(blasting to waste)

try co2 extraction if you like nicer colours, I will be selling a scco2 to waste extractor shortly for 500CAD 3oz model. Everyone already mostly has co2 tanks from growing so it will work out nicely for most

You can re run material. Most guys use a microscope to see if anything is left over. Generally running it again pulls out undesirables.
The soak isn't that long if you run it properly.

Hi icdog don't know if you remember me(we have meet briefly at ty expo ,french guy coming from la belle province lol.)i maybe need one of those beast soon ,it is possible for a small setup to run 2" extraction column (already have 1 for open blasting) ? How big is the recovery pot 10" or 12" does bigger recovery pot mean faster solvent recovery?
Send me P.M. for pricing and availability.

havent heard of anyone prefer CO2 extracts for flavor...

yup, people have told me it does not taste as good as the bho runs.

there is a way to do the extraction at lower psi to capture the flavours and then add it back to the high psi run.

i just blast the stuff and purge it I'm sure in a year or two from now people will be doing crazy things like taking waxes and flavours from one strain adding it to other runs etc

Just got our MK4 today...and I'm still fucking awestruck, my brain can't handle the awesome. Epic is an understament.

Quick question for you though, I forgot to ask when I was there this morning but do you think it's possible to get a 25% return using this once we get some experience?

BigJohney:

I would say that depends on the strain....

My c99 yielded less bho/gram than my WW....

If your looking for bulk....look at the WW...

I'm interested...can you share info on the MK4?

What info are you looking for? We haven't used it yet and are probably at least a week away from using it. I need to order the recovery pump and we need to do some cantapping and dry runs first :)

Hey pleasure to meet you today, it is epic I agree and I hope it works well for you.
To answer your question, can you get 25%? Yield is determined by the material. A closed loop is just a more complicated extractor then an open system, it won't pull more yield then it can.
Some guys say they get 25% but I think its exaggeration.

Leaffan what questions about the mk4 do you have?

I'm pushing to start growing some high yield strains so hopefully we can get high yield output. We want to try for 25% because if we can get it then we can drop our prices significantly.

I'm actually considering springing for another unit myself now, as it turns out while I was up there this week someone stole my truck so I'm probably going to get some insurance money back. If I get enough money to square up some bills, then I think I might drop the cash on that 12"x12" unit we talked about. But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Btw have you sent out the instructions yet??

I should also mention that I wasn't in the mindset of "oh we have this, now we get crazy yields" but more along the lines of "with this equipment could we achieve 25% if the circumstances were right, compared to open blasting."

No worries man, many people ask me that question, its possible for sure.

Just sent you some instructions and tried to include all things you will encounter with setup and can tapping. The rest will be on the way soon.

Yield is determined by strain, and material run(nugs, popcorn, larf, trim).....

Can't get anymore in than you can take out...it's not like the extractor can make more extract.
