Those Cree lightbulbs vs CFLs for supplemental lighting

Hey guys.. trying to see which would be better to use as supplemental lighting. I will most likely be flowering with an A51 RW-75 and was gonna throw some extra lights in there. I see a lot of people are using those Cree bulbs they sell at various hardware stores now.

I'm having trouble finding information on comparing them to CFLs. I know they last probably at least twice as long, so the higher prices can be justified. I mean as far as energy consumption, lumens, PAR, heat, etc.

Can anybody give me a run down of comparison, pros/cons, anything like that?

Thanks guys! This forum is seriously great! Better than other similar ones out there in my opinion, judging by the user base :)

Ok so I'm pretty sure my best bet is to get the 3000k Cree floodlights

My immediate thought was to put 4 of them in my box, in the top corners all facing down on my plants. Is this the best route to go? Are there other LED bulbs that are better, or should I mix up the color temperature or anything like that?

Any tips in that department would also help. Thanks!!

Great question!
I'd like to piggyback by asking an additional question.
What is the usable distance for those cree floodlights (or similar) from the plant?

Was just looking at these things today at home depot and wondering how well they'd do. You know what size chips they're have?
