Gavita + Noob grow lep + hps

Ego aside, wasn't happy with my last (and first) veg cycle. Put them outside and they are doing better. Was to much stress on plants didn't want to waste flowering resources on them vs free resources.

So I'm bound and determined to get a good grow. I can't afford good weed hopefully I can grow some.

I am using 2 600w Gavita Pro units and 2 Gavita LEP A/C fixtures. I've never turned my hps on. I will be using 10" hyperfan paired with a 950 cfm carbon filter for exhaust and I have 2 other 8" hyperfans if needed. Either 10" or an 8" need to be used to evacuate heat from LEP's. I have a Sentinel DEC 4 controller that may get hooked up also. Limited use in tent may just use for temp/Rh log. I have a digital recycle timer that I may or may not find use for.

I am also going from room to a tent at a different local. Temporarily downsizing for many reasons. Moving into 5x5 Gorilla tent. I will make do with the great gear I got at least this cycle.

I'm not using this as advertisement for any companies. I paid for all this stuff myself. I am an indoor noob. Perhaps this will help someone else- mostly I'm using it for
guidance/feedback. Feel free to interject ideas. Seems like forums are large advertising fronts. I'm not. Just here to learn.

Hopefully this catches some one's attention and I can get help to not screw something up or stop screwing something up or find better and more efficient ways to do something.

Thanks in advance.

First thing is choose what products and seeds I need. Next week need to order seeds and get some type of coco. I am currently undecided on both. I am concerned about getting screwed on seeds, and choosing the wrong medium or pot sizes for what I want to do. Further research and leap of faith required.

I am looking for a strain that is stable, does not yield poorly, stays short, with high caylix to leaf ratio, tastes great with good desirable effect. Quality before but not excluding quantity with a true flowering period of less than 10 weeks.

I am planning on hand watering daily. So I don't want a fast drying coco or one that dries to slow. I know has as much to do as container type and size and root size, and plethora of environmental conditions.

I need to keep plant count down to 12 or under during flower. Hoping to get lucky or make an informed decision on plant density. Awaiting strain choice.

Current available water is city water, PH 6.9 to 7.1 w/ppm around 50. Need to start thinking EC instead of PPM. I'm using Hannah instruments. Usually contained no chlorine/chloramine's's unless they are doing repairs. Would like to look into using RO water but I am not convinced it's the best way to go. Need to find out more.

I will be using Nectar for the Gods advanced line possibly with more of their products. I will also be using Great White Beneficial's and Aza Sol for pest/mold prevention.

My thoughts for the day.

bogglegum has all those qualities supposedly, I have some I bought from bog at the cup waiting for my next run, supposedly easy to grow and high yield with a good high.

12 plants is a lot for a 5x5 tent youre gonna have to veg them small with that many, I have a 5x5 tent and with a full 8 week veg time, for me 6 is a perfect amount, 7 is a little cramped.

I am going to pop extra's, feminized looking for mother plant. Will pot up and cull the crop when I need to. Want to get em to good maturity from seed and full space quickly. I am going to do either Northern Lights, White Widow or AK-47 from Sensi Seed through Attitude.

IM not sure how many to run. Hopefully I'll get good feedback when I need it. I am sure it will be dependent on final system. I will decide after I get strain.

Hopefully they do better than last run. I want to see plants do their thing under plasma, 1St run didn't do shit. FTW better outside now. Somethings majorly not right. Hence changing everything new location more secure. Central a/c. Using coco not sure if i am going for Coco Connoiusuer, Coco Forest or Air-Max.

Strain is either Northern Lights or Purple Bud. Sensi strains. Anyone have any input on characteristics of these two strains and how they differ. Ease of growing, yield, effect, taste, any one of these going to benefit from LEP lighting more than the other?

Ok second decision... R/O or not. Going with Nectar for the Gods nutrients and either their Coco Forest or Coco Air-Max.
I am asking because on one side I know R/O is better but what about with my medium/ nutrient? How does it hold PH?
Will I have a problem with PH buffering or is this in reference to full hydro? Any knowledge or links appreciated.

normally I would say use RO for sure because you usually dont know whats in your tap and its a stable base but man your tap water is like damn near RO already, if its always that steady and low on PPM it will be fine.

Selling 600 pros for 6/750 flex and controller. Making some purchases today.
Airpot; 10x propagation, 7 #2, 5 #3
3cf of Coco Forest
Great White Beneficials
60x phresh magnifier
10x Feminized Northern Lights From Sensi hope they don't disappoint.
Some various NotG bottles;
Hygeia Hydration, Mega Morpheus, Titans Trowl and Haydes Down
And some nice Bluelab PPM & PH pens.
Can't wait to get another attempt on the road. I will get pics if I have to use computer to load them. I want to keep a good journal cause I need lots of pointers. I am glad I am getting some new beans/ gear.

As far as tap water goes IM going to recalibrate my Hannah meter again. If that was off would make some of this last run understandable.
I just hope nutrients work out alright for me. IM going to read up on mixing nutrients because I always rushed through it. Will start taking my time with it in future.

Hope this kid buys my lights. If not then down to 550 they go.

Anyone see a problem doing White Widow in gorilla tent in tray that is 1 ft off of ground? Using flex 6/750 fixture or one of my 600w Gavita Pro units? Says it's a tall strain. :( but I think better than NL.

I have no experience with airpots or growing. Does it look like IM making good choice on airpot sizes for coco from seed.

I keep hearing coco isnt a "starter" medium as its a lot easier to screw up with your feedings and nutrients than something like soil, personally thats why I didnt run it. There is a ton of good coco info here in the coco forum just make sure you stay on top of your ph and ec with it.

Just did slurry test on the plants I put outside from indoor all looking better. 7.1 Ph organic soil.... Seems high 1.3 ec 450 ppm. Water was 7.1 tap 50ppm used all stuff in Nectar for the gods sample box. Mixed nutrients stirred waited 30 minutes was ph 5.7 droped to 5.6 try get ph back in soil to 6.3. Used nutes as directed full Strength. Ppm mixture 50 water 750 final. Hopefully I did right. I think Ph of soil was alkaline. Showing mag deficiencies + others also purifiers salt in. Will foliar early morning w bloom chaos. Does all this sound good? Any thing sound off? Did I give good reaction to higher Ph?

Hurray found out why my plants got all screwed indoors.

Bloom Chaos screwed my plants off. We'll I did. Thinking it was a regular foliar feed. Monster gardens could have clues me in and I think should have warning on label. Problem solved. Can't wait for next run.
