Berkeley dispensaries now required to give free marijuana to the poor

I wonder if their is a limit to how much free weed one could have?
Does it apply to shatter and wax I wonder

The limit is 2% of what they sell. Total, not per patient. Dispensaries could give away more if they really wanted to. I wonder how they'll decide who will get the 2%.

I have lost count of the weed ,seeds,clones,advise I have given away over the years to sick med peeps and I don't own a dispensary and charge ridiculous prices..... they can afford it if I can,,, giving back is its own reward

Wrong. They had their prices set where they thought they would maximize their profits. They did not have their prices 2% higher prior to being forced to give some of their product away because they felt that if they raised their prices 2% higher they would lose enough volume of business to make less profit than at their current price point.

With the new law, they are forced to raise their prices above the optimal level and lose profit or eat the 2% loss of giving it away at the current price.

By your logic, car dealers could be forced to give a car away to those who qualify for the free car program for every car they sell.

They would not lose anything since all they would have to do is double the price of the cars that they do sell and they would come out even.

There is a difference between giving away your own stuff to those whom you feel are deserving of it and being forced to turn over your hard earned goods and/or income to those the powerful deign to be more deserving of your stuff than you.

One is charity and the other is akin to extortion by a heavily armed gang. They just want to wet their beak. They make you an offer you cannot refuse.

we all value freedom, i would hope so anyway. but if you choose to play in their game you gotta play by their rules, or at least learn their rules so you can have offshore tax havens...erm i mean bend the rules.

If the govt was paying them to give the weed out then I am ok with that....what's next ? Will the govt tell restaurants that they have to give out free food ? That's not right.

I ment is their a limit on the amount of weed a person could get? I no they will have to give away 2% of their total income of weed but could one person get about 10 ounces a month or is their a limit of how much weed each person can get

I am giving away all my money and moving to Berkeley, I will live on the streets, and smoke my free pot! My sister lives in Berkeley so maybe I can sleep under her house?
That is all I ever wanted, to live free with free pot. I also mean also free food, free housing, free clothing, free medical, free sex, free surfboards, free autos, free gasoline, free vacations, free everything.
I don't know why every town is not doing this?
I know a bunch of bums that have been waiting for this for a really long time so they could move there....
Do you know when they plan to start giving away the free money? I am packing, I mean giving away all my crap, so I can hitch hike there tomorrow....
