How would I become a tester?

I've always been curious how I would become a tester of new strains/crosses?

I'm sure giving a in depth, detailed review, and opinion would help. Which I've always been a very in depth, detailed critic with a positive outlook that would definitely be ideal for breeders.
I'm just curious what , or where to look to become a tester?
hopefully I'm not in the wrong for asking, can someone PM me possibly if publically announcing is not a good idea.

It depends on who wants the testing and who wants to test. The candidate pool and how fussy the one offering the test seeds is. Somewhat luck of the draw it seems, and being in the right place at the right time. If it is just about scoring free beans to you, as it was with me initially, forget it, save yourself the stress and bother and just get some cheap seeds and later once you mastered things some more expensive ones if you desire. Post pics and document your work and if you do well most anyone will want you to test for them. I have endured years of posts for info going ignored or being too late for many tests or not qualifying. I have no amazing results or journals. But I think people can see the passion and desire in me now and so, I am a tester. Do not seek to talk the talk if you cannot walk the walk. You should be willing to post pics and detailed notes. They want testers to really feel out their strains and determine the good and bad attributes. Of course they want to sell seeds and want positive reviews, but above all you must give your honest appraisal. I am far from an expert, but hope that helps somewhat.

but on a more basic level, if someone is asking for testers to apply, say you are interested and how you would be an asset and hope for the best. good luck!

Yeah, to me it would mainly be about the critique, getting the originals before any watering down happens/ or lost mothers. Also being able to give an intellectual opinion that would improve the outcome. Also being able to possibly partner with, or create crosses that would be gems/part of the line-up.
If only I was a Apollo 11 tester, or a Sour Bubble... Kali Mist....SSH.. Etc strains that were lost or "improved" because of lost parents.
