No offense towards you, but anyone that would let a stranger inspect his garden is a fucking idiot.

Well, without the proper credentials I'd tend to agree. Not sure what state you're from (or if you're from the states at all) but if they had the proper medicinal credentials and legalities in order I don't really see why not. I don't even want to touch them, because a 10 second look is enough to tell me whether or not I want a clone from someone in the first place. Had he bee n charging 15, 30, 70 bucks for a clone the burden of proof would be that much lower though, but at 200.. sheeeeiiit! I guess my philosophy is "share and share alike" and when I run into people trying to retire off of another persons breeding program is grinds my gears. I've got 26 strains I run right now in two separate locations and I'm working on my third, several of them clone only, and I still have yet to pay for or charge for one. I try my best to "give until it hurts" because, to me anyways, the sense of community and the network opportunities are MUCH more valuable than a $200 one time deal.

What about rippers or someone looking to save their own ass? The only people allowed around my garden already know the condition of what's coming out of it.

:yeahthats

I think that most of us who are legal beagle still operate as if we're not. LEO notwithstanding, there are other folks to be wary of..

Legal or not, I don't need my neighbors knowing, my garbage collection peeps knowing, the cable guy, the utility guy, ..

What do I possibly have to gain from that?

If they were legal they wouldn't need to save their own ass, and I don't deal with anyone that isn't legal. As far as rippers go, idk.. Never worried much about it I guess. It's A much different culture around here maybe? I totally respect a growers right to say no to whatever may come up, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't even second guess it really, but I definite have a right to be curious about where my genetics are coming from and if someone makes claims I expect them to be able or willing to back them up.

Te culture where I'm at just may be different too. Any time another grower and I meet and sesh, we're pretty excited to show the garden and talk about it all.

Then again, I would never ever ever ever attempt to sell anything on Craigslist. However, as a caregiver I'm legally protected in the procurement aspect. I've never tried to get anything from there before either, I just know a lllloooooot of growers but none of is had gg4 yet. I'll just be patient though, it's only a matter of time before I get to try her out.

No doubt man. I have no idea how much those dicks were charging, but there's some guy around here advertising on CL "Verifiable" GG4 cuttings for 200/each. Even though I was ready to crack and buy one if he could verify, he never got back with me. He told me he could prove through this site (hence me joining) and I asked him to link to the thread (here) where his pics are, and screenshot the convo with the "offer from the Glue Crew member" with the original cut. I guess it's good he didn't waste his time doing that, because if you're gonna charge 200 bucks for a branch of someone elses genetic work (which is a fucking dick move if you ask me, as I've never paid for or charged for a clone before..I feel BAD charging for clones because I would otherwise throw the clippings away! thats a whole separate issue though) you'd better expect the onus of proof to be on you to verify that cutting and be prepared to have me want to inspect the room too. If you think I'm going to spend a dollar on something that could possibly infect one of my gardens, let alone 200 dollars, be ready to earn that money.

Had I gotten the cutting and I got to inspect the garden it came from and felt satisfied in the proof of it's veracity, I STILL would have quarantined it for a solid week and treated it for bugs and infections regardless.
I doubt you will get anyone to let you in there garden, I know I wouldent let any stranger in my garden for any reason, hell you might have bugs on you, inspect the cut your buying all you want .

We do and it's good to, I guess I could traumatize my point by saying
"If you don't want random people wanting to see your garden, don't sell 200 dollar clones on Craigslist." I you're charging that, expect a higher burden of proof than just "your word".

And believe me, I'm not tryna hate on anyone for anything. Your philosophy and methodology has given you great experience as has mine. ANd really, as long as we're growing, I think that's what counts most!

But the entrance fee to my garden is gonna be a little more than a "sesh" with a new friend, sir.

Actually, I've been in dozens at this point.just picked up a ten nagged Ghost OG from a dude I met last week fr free. Again, maybe it's just the culture in the area, or it's just because I'm well known enough? I've never attempted to get a clone from someone I don't know before that, especially off of CL. I figure as the buyer, I'd better beware of people that could possibly fuck my room up with a shit clone that isn't even the advertised strain for way too much.

Lol for sure, usually a sesh involves an exchange or a very nice gift of some sort. I try and give until it hurts, and when I leave 2g of shatter with someone just as a favor, they're inclined to be much more friendly. :D

Two-way street. :)

Edit: I think we can both agree that seeking livestock off of CL/strangers is probably fraught with potential problems, for all involved. :tiphat:

Also, if you're giving out all I want for free and you've for gg4 cuts, I'd be happy to drive across the state to get one. ;) and at that price point, I'd have no cause to want to see anything. You don't have that burden of proof causes by sticker shock! ;)

Absolutely!! I totally applaud his efforts in maintaining his threshold of security too, because as you said, it's a two way street. Don't get me wrong, I'm familiar with the duality of the situation. My moral objections lie with making ridiculous ones from what is essentially someone else's work, NOT being careful.

Man who would have thunk it? Fuckin Michigan! Keepin the mid section green :D Go blue!!!

269 represent!! Lol

Seriously though, it's GREAT here! Combined with our legalities, being the 2nd most agriculturally diverse state and a high unemployment rate/shit economy.. I honestly believe we're poisoned to gain some serious notoriety for quality nugs here. The amount of growers is ASTONISHING in my area considering population density, and the number of growers actually worth a shit is rising quickly as well. I'm about to start breeding and preserving genetics in tissue culture as well, and I couldn't be happier to be here in Michigan on the cusp of all of the great things about to happen for us!

I don't think you're understanding me here.

200 dollar clones from random person = unnecessary burden f proof as to their veracity.

Free/reasonable prices clones = I'll take em and get you high as hell and enjoy a new friend.

I didn't even ask him to see, that was a hypothetical situation.

I'm honestly surprised that outrage doesn't exist for charging ridiculous money for someone else's work. If he created the genetic, sure, but of you're given something for free and then attempt to pull that kind Of money is crazy. If I had the audacity to pull that bullshit, I would certainly EXPECT some unreasonable conditions, because expected anything less while being unreasonable is flat unreasonable!!

Had to take a poke at you...your idea of seeing someone garden because of the price of the product had me rolling. All in fun though. Wishing the best at gaining entrance to others private often secretive world...even if legal.

It's cool. I'll agree it's pretty unreasonable on my behalf, but it's only in response to that. I go into many many gardens, but it's probably because my reputation is what it is in the area. I treat others peoples plants for pests and diseases, consult for bigger yields, etc all professionally as well as maintain my own 3 gardens. I'm probably just spoiled, but in the face of all logic I'll maintain that if you charge that much for a clone, and you're doing it to random people on the Internet, expect a hassle. YMMV. ;)
