Our Little Dog Spike

Went through this whole thread last night. This morning the missus asked me to go through it again so she could see all the pics too.

We still cried when we looked at the Spike pics and the missus couldn't even look at 3rd pic in post #59. Still too tender.

That said, it was fun to relive Cricket growing up on this thread. She has become a part of this family. She didn't replace Spike, but she really helped me, the wife, and Missy to go on and heal.

So here's some more pics:

In this last photo, you see evidence of Mrs. Blazer's ingenuity. We've had to constantly refill their water bowl. We were using a old milk jug to cut down on the trips to the sink, but it still seemed like we were filling that up all the time. Well, last winter our pipes froze so we bought big jugs of bottled water (mainly for the toilet tank). We got our water running before we used it all, so she set one up on a stool by their bowl and bought the coolest pump that converts the bottle to running water. Now we can just pick the bowl up and give a couple of pumps. Much better.

Checking in with comparison photos showing Cricket's growth. The first is from the end of March. The second is from today.

Told the missus we need to get her some moose antlers.

Missy had to go to the vet today for some shots she was due for. We took Cricket too and weighed them both.

Missy - 57 lbs
Cricket - 52 lbs

So much for the 40 lb range we were hoping for.

Yeah we do, and they're all lovable and cute.

Missy and Hershey are definite momma's dogs. Cricket is daddy's dog lately.

good stuff you guys.......

Alice's birthday is coming up in a few days & we celebrate Scooby's on March 17th (St. Paddy's Day) as that's the day I got her, the next week on her 1st visit the vet figured she was about 2 yrs old, so 3/17 stuck for her. Alice will be 12 years old on December 6th.
