fitzy grows some plants

Hello, fellow ICMAGers. I've lurked for long enough and decided to share my current grow. I've attempted microgrows a few times in the past, but none have ever produced(males, security concerns, complete lack of a green thumb). Veg under 96w of cfl for a month then switched to 100w CMH for another month of veg. I had the MH ballast collecting dust and figured it would outshine the cfl's. This grow is currently on day 23 of 12/12 and is producing nicely. Here's some pics of the progression.

Germed two Peakseeds Northern Lights seeds. One in RapidRooter and one straight to soil.

They had a rough time in those party cups. Too much perlite, too much watering to compensate. There was a period of maybe two weeks where they didn't grow and were looking like they were on death's doorstep. Unfortunately no pics. Transplanted and they did a little better.

Started some LST. Saw female preflowers on the RapidRooter plant after 5 weeks.

Shortly after, the other plant showed male preflowers. Decided to transplant my still vegging, but confirmed female.

Continued vegging/LSTing and she liked her new pot.

At this point she's vegging for about two months, and I'm realizing I'm quickly running out of room.

Decide to transplant her again and flip to 12/12 the following day.

Some more LST

And a day later, she's reaching for the light.

She continued to grow and push out hairs. I'm starting to worry that this cab won't be big enough.

And here she is at day 21(I think) of 12/12. Stretch seems to have slowed/stopped.

Thanks for stopping in. I was originally planning to do a scrog, but got lazy. It's definitely on my mind for a later grow. Untopped LST growing was a bit tedious.

Nice canopy!!
Are you going to defoliate her at all or just let her do her thing?

Nice to see you, Blynx. Your grows are truly awe-inspiring. Regarding defoliation, I'm letting her grow as is. I'm sure it would probably increase my yield, but she's been shedding tons of leaves since before the flip to 12/12 and I'd feel uneasy taking any more. Just trying to get her to harvest at this point.

Day 28 of 12/12

Day 37 of 12/12

I noticed some yellow/brown spots on newer/sugar/ bud leaves that leads me to believe there's a calcium deficiency. I picked up some CALiMAGic and hope that resolves it.

Day 49 of 12/12

It's only day 49 of 12/12, but the overwhelming amount of amber trichomes suggests a harvest date in the next couple of days. This is from a sugar leaf on one of the biggest buds.

This sugar leaf is from a bud that doesn't get much direct light, and it seems to be at the right cloudy/amber mix.

I'd check more than a leaf. The flowers are what I look at. New growth vs old.

So, I heeded the advice of 3dDream and foxylady, checked the trichomes on various flowers, and decided to let them go to day 56 of 12/12. Here she is right before the chop.

And here is where I'll probably lose some of you...I decided to water cure the entire harvest. I 'm looking for the smoothest smoke possible and a vaporized isn't in the budget right now. I didn't get wet weight before dumping her in the water. Steam basket is used to keep the buds under the water's surface.

I've got lots of trim/fluffy buds that will also be water cured eventually and used to make either butter or tincture.

Dried trim/fluffy buds.

And the nugs after 5 days of water curing. Noticeably less green, water less murky/lower EC at each water change.
