Take a look into "Epinasty" (basically bad roots causing curling of leafs). Definitely a result of over-watering. Very common for people in containers that are taller than they are wide because the bottom of the soil is super saturated with water for a really long time.

Any thermometer will be fine. Try a pet store. You can usually get them for $2-3

78-80 is fine as long as your reservoir is clean. There is a risk of rot at that temperature but you'll get quicker rooting. If slime becomes a problem I would drop the temps to about 70-72.

I think you may be correct about the over watering as when I moved the one plant I could pull on the stem and it had a firm grip into the new dirt . The other it wasnt even rooted to the new soil he had transplanted it to. Then the vacation made it even worse when the dried up.

Plus he is battling the low temp from airconditioning his house, at 60 to 62 in the basement the plant never dries out so I could see root rot starting. I think I need the perlite to help with this problem.

I am also wondering about the nutes he gave me. It is General Hydroponics for veg not sure the name it's organic. He told me 4TSP to a gallon is what is called for aggressive growing. Im reading start out at 1/2tsp to a gallon and work up to see how it does. So if he is doing the 4tsp to a gallon he could also be frying the root system. He was doing really good for a while and has some good smoke but he is kind of frustrated at this point.

Well so far so good, I picked up a heater and boosted the temp to a round 76 and within a couple hours the big clone with two tops that was all wilted has now perked back up. I also got a PH meter and recalibrated it and found out the resivore was at 6.9 so I added a gallon and set the ph back to 6.1. Hope to see roots soon if not im going to do like a guy I seen on utube and recut and try again.

And I also added some perlite to the mix and Im starting to see them dry out. I think Im going to drill some more holes down low on the sides of the bucket.

Soil pH is 6.5 and Hydroponic pH is 5.8. You're kind of floating between them. I'd rather see my reservoir closer to the 6.4 to 6.5 mark if I am watering or using organic nutrients. The solution should rise over time so I don't think you're way off the mark, but maybe a little lower than ideal.

You really need to be lifting the containers. Daily. Even 2x a day to get a feel for what was used that day. Just keep lifting them until the container is just scary, crazy, "uhoh," light when you pick it up. The plant will start to wilt and then you can measure how much water it takes to completely saturate the media. Once you know how much the media can hold, then when you water you can look at what went in, what came out, and have a rough idea of what percentage dry that container was when you watered.

First, establish a baseline by letting them pretty much dry out (don't hurt the planties of course) and then watering slowly to complete saturation.

Drilling more holes for runoff sounds like a really good idea to me!

I noticed allready how much faster the soil dried with the perlite in there. I will give it a try and let them dry out and and get a feel for the weight. Im all for them being light as my back and neck are a big mess. I might have to clean the cloner out and give it another try im not seeing much at all on roots , now the bigger one is getting dark like bumps but the cut at 45 at the bottom is just browning over. Hope these take I need these bad...

Was just trying it with 1/4 tsp per gallon of superthrive. Im going to go get the clonex solution for them, and give it a good cleaning, now that I have the ph meter and the ph up and down and rooting gel I will have a good look at the clones to see what's going on.

Thanks Snow Crash for the tips!! I can say I HAVE ROOTS on the two big clones that are topped. I dont know if they will do anything but only time will tell. One of the little ones is just getting a few small roots above the clay balls. Wondering what is in the clay LOL. The rest are stillperky but I checked one and the bottom 1/2 inch is mush so I recut it and will keep hoping it gets going now that I added some clonex solution to the water and I changed the spray mist time. I was at 1/2hour on 2hours off and two days ago I went 1/2on 4hours off and now the roots are reaching for the water. Got to get this medication growing as I might have to face another operation. Im a cancer survivor of 8 years and am a bit worried they might try to take my only testical. Funny thing is he said there is either something goin g on with the surgery from the left or there is something else wrong on the left side, but Im going for a CT scan and a Ultrasound of my righty.

been a while but the Liberty haze has finally come out of being stressed and am getting some good growth maybe an inch a day or a little less. The clones of the purple wreck are looking bad. I just replanted one of them into a smaller pot. The roots seem to have grown down quite a bit but the plant is still yellowing and looking rough. The viens are green but the rest of the leaves are yellowing. I just added some perlite and a smaller pot because they are not drying out enough and am wondering if tht is the problem. another guy that I met at a store said sounds like I need to be feeding them more nute's like 600 ppm or so. Im going to let them dry out and see if they perk up a bit. They are runts but Im just expermenting to see if I can get them going like the liberty haze. Once I get her going really good Im going to clone her and once I am confident I can save the strain then Im going to flower her out.

Its been a while since I started and it's been a long rocky road, but Im finally doing ok. Room is pretty much finished and I put the Lib Haze Mother into flower along with a Tahoe I picked up. Here a a couple pics of the clones I started way back, first two pics are the Lib haze Clone and the next three are the Critical Kush.

First pic here is of the Lib Haze Clone I just transplanted a few days ago roots all ready to the holes, from a beer cup to a 3/4gal pot of coco they never skipped a beat. Next is the Lib Haze Mother Im doing away with too big and taking up too much space. 3rd pic is one of the four Tahoe's I got from a friend and were messed up. They were so tight node to node I popped all the crap off. And then I accidently snapped a limb doing a bit of LST to it Opps. And fourth is the LH mother again.
