So my landlord told me that the Homeowners insurance wants to drop him because of my outdoor medical marijuana garden. Has anyone heard of such a crazie thing. Now he said he's going to give me a demand letter if I don't pull the plants in 1 week.
He gave me permission to grow on the property before I even Moved in

Wow, and your doing that grow in your signature?

Damn near impossible to up and go...

How do they even know?

That's insane!!! Hiring an attorney is def your best bet!!

I rent an apartment where I have my small personal medical grow, the rental company has no knowledge of my grow, and Im even able to get homeowner insurance here!!!

In Canada, we have a federal medical marijuana program, so even if the rental company didn't want me to grow theres nothing they can do about it once the government approves my production license lol

Hang in there, don't give up your fight!!

I'm hiring attorney, things were agreed upon before I signed the lease.

Did you have it in writing or written into the lease from the landlord?
Only other chance is have him admit he gave you permission on camera but in some states it is illegal to capture such an admission without the person being aware you are filming.
In Nevada it is punishable by up to 7 years to record a phone call without the person on the other end agreeing to being recorded.....but you can record them on video with a camera phone and it's perfectly legal and binding. Check your local/state law regarding that. If you can get him on video saying he had given you permission it's as good as having a picture of a politician fucking a goat. Nothing he can do but go along with ya want to do!! Just don't expect him to renew the lease when it's up, lol

I probably won't get the demand letter for another week. Then I won't respond for a week or two. Then the eviction process starts and by then hopefully I have enough time to finish by mid.oct before they make me leave or no. Any ideas guys

Doesn't Progressive Insurance have an "enlightened" attitude towards medical marijuana? If he's not dead set on eviction, you might suggest that there are other insurance options available.

technically.... just cause the landlord looses insurance coverage from one company....
HE is still required to get / and maintain a NEW policy... the home is required to have it...
specially if it's a rental..... have him find a insurance company that will work with him....

maybe even offer too pay the difference in premium cost from one policy to the next...

was the fact of "permission to grow" written into the lease if so.... the landlord would be in breach of contract....

even if he evicts U..... He will be required to have a new policy in place BEFORE he can re-rent the place...
it's required especially if there is a bank loan on the property....
