Do nutrients have a shelf life?

definatly. usually about 1 year from opening, if you look after your nutes.
depends what the product is, ie, enymes. powdered, etc.
Normal A & B Hydro will last at least 1 and up to 2 years.
I'd always try and use as fresh as possible.

Even after they are opened for years though the nutrients are still there. Nothing disapears, things just simply change form. I suppose nitrogen could gas off to some degree but if it cant evaporate if will just turn into a mineral salt when the liquid evaporates. Also minerals could potential bond after a long time and be "locked out" until some chemical or biological process process makes them separate and available again. There is also the possibility of bacteria or fungus colonizing your nutrient solution and using up some of the nutrients but again nothing disappears things only change form. Maybe those microorganism gas off some nutrients, maybe they take some in to build there cell structure but it all goes somewhere and the solution is bound to always retain some potential to feed a plant. If you really want to know what is in your solution than buy a NPK test kit and test it.

I would say the Flora Nova Series does. It starts to crystalize and doesnt dissolve properly, you literally have to cut apart the bottle to get all the stuff out. Works fine until it starts drying out. If stored properly, IMHO,

As far as the 3 part, flora series, I was not aware of shelf life. I've used old bottles all the time no problem.

Call GH directly if you want to know, but I think they will tell you it doesn't keep well so you have to buy more stuff.
