Best day of the year so far. Beautiful and sunny and borderline hot at times. Hung out with a band that just recorded an album in Atlanta last month. We shall all know them soon.

I hear ya Shaman, we had 70F on Thursday but it's 25F now, the wind is blowing hard, windchill factoring is about 15F, a high of 35 is expected but again high winds pushing that temp to below freezing.

I had heavy driving snow early this morning, strong winds had the shit blowin' sideways, the dogs wanted back inside in a hurry.......

we get April storms:

The largest April snowstorm in recent memory is the April 17-19, 2013 event that brought 17.7 inches at Duluth and 7.3 inches in the Twin Cities. Just a year ago this week.

Duluth & the Iron Range get slammed because of the effect Lake Superior has on precipitation.

Yeah the Keweenaw and Marquette - Munising areas get the hammer from the Big Lake. Looks like it may have rivaled 78 - 79 winter this year. Good times

We went from 85F degrees wearing shorts and T-shirts at the Zoo on Saturday basking in sunshine, to shivering for dear life 25F by Monday. Everyone was like WTF happened?

Just 20's near me, 30's here last night, nothing too noteworthy. And some areas of n new england got 8 inches or more, but here just 1 after a lot of rain, mid to upper 60's went to 30's in no time. Not like the upper midwest, I think they got more recently.

even sunny in the 40s has been t-shirt weather, yeah this weekend will be great, maybe melt the snow around my house finally :) the north side of my place still has an 80' long pile that's 2 feet deep, all snow that's slid off my steel roof.......

really looking forward to those 50s/60s when they get here

we've had a few nice days in the upper 50's, not much better than that though.

the good news is that the ice finally melted off the lakes in time for fishing opener Saturday May 10th, ice out was Friday the 9th so really it was just in time, stout winds from the west pushed large sheets of it ashore, all the eastern shorelines look like they're sugar frosted :)

So the forecast is for snow tomorrow (mother's day) here in Denver. They are guessing up to 5 inches. I scrambled to find blankets, tarps, and bath towels to cover the MMJ plants I put out last week when it looked safe for them to go outside. If they freeze it is off to the clone store I go.

so it's been about 2-3 weeks only that all of our trees had budded into leaf, tonight I have 38F on my outdoor digital, at least there's no mosquitoes to contend with while letting the dogs in & out.

We had two solid days of torrential rain (huge cold front), the kinda rain that makes you know your car is gonna be as spotless as mine is now, flooded roadways as some of them wind their way through big old ash swamps and bogs.

this is fireplace weather, my crib was down to 66.4F today, chilly enough for some heat. if it drops 3 or 4 more degrees it'll be prime temps & conditions for a light snow.

weather could hardly be better, 81F in Bemidji but 5 or 6 degrees cooler by me, light winds, low humidity; better yet is the lack of biting flies and mosquitoes, skeeters been real light this year.

there's nothing finer than a Minnesota summer, the forests are lush, lakes and rivers @ full levels, lots of the lakes are so clean and clear that a secchi disc (a black/white clarity measuring device) can be seen over 25' down in the water.

Tons of lakeside camping (tent to RV) or rent cabins or condos on some of the bigger lakes.

oh yeah, the loons you hear cry in the movies??? happens all the time day or night up here.

I was selling real estate and as the buyers stepped out of my car, @ the next listing a big cry from a single loon came from the lake, this house had an awesome lady's kitchen. They bought it on the spot and then questioned my tactics of using a recorded loon to set the hook.......
