heres my (rather hastily added) 2 penneth... I run sativas that stretch 3 times in flower (i never saw anything stretch more, personally) and so for my 2 meters (6 foot) of headroom I like to veg until 18 inches (1.5 foot) max this gives me a finish height of around 4 and a half foot which is just right with lamp distance etc....

good luck...

edit - meters inches and feet... great...lol (soz)
edit 2 - SUPERCROPPING - this will help you if your girls get too tall (you can find lots of info on the boards about it)

Yeah guys, I flipped them already... don't wanna risk as it's my 1st one (and with sativas)... still quite unexperienced... but maybe I'm gonna have to do some Supercropping indeed... I see some of the Durban poison are taking too much advantage...

Hi Sunzi, only just saw this thread!

I'd leave them untopped now as topping them will interfere with the stretch that takes place before they set flowers. Ideally if you did want to top them, you'd want to have topped them whilst they were still in veg and give them a week or so to recover before flipping to flower.

Like others have said you might have to train them down or supercrop them if they become too tall but as long as you keep an eye on them you should be OK.

How much height have you got left (bearing in mind a safe distance from the bulb)?

Peace

Heard "dp" is good.
Tastes like like liquorice!?

Hey SPG! I don't know yet as I've never tried it! I did choose these strains because of their resistance, but I will let you know as soon as I try it! I've heard it tastes like liquorice indeed, and it gives a very enjoyable light sativa high... can't wait to find out!

Hey Piff! I was missing your advices already :) I noticed that, but it's ok... next time I'll try some topping and shit
What I've done for now is putting the 3 taller Durbans in the corners of the tent bended and tied to their respective columns and I raised the shorter NLxBB's a bit so they are kind of even and I don't have to stress them too much!
Bearing that in mind, right now I have around 70-80 cms left!
When do you reckon I should start trimming the bottom third of the plants as you suggested?

Peace guys :tiphat:

Can't you bend em over rather than topping, it's far better IMO. Don't over think it just keep em looking healthy and bend em as they grow so they don't hit the light

Your doing really well, your plants look very healthy and decent, now just carry it through the flower phase and your laughing.

Hi mate, it's up to you really when to start trimming lower branches. What I do is watch the plant over the two weeks since flowering begun, as this is when it will stretch and form the bud bearing branches.

Any branches that look weak and spindly I remove, then once the buds really start forming you'll be able to see which branches to keep. Any branches that are well below the main canopy should be removed as they won't receive much light and will never produce a decent amount of bud.

Generally speaking, I would try and trim off the bottom third of each plant during the first two weeks of flowering to allow the main branches to take over and fill the canopy. There's no strict method, it's down to your preference really.

Peace

Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments a lot! ;)
Btw, I have this 2 Durban Poison (you can see them aside in the corner pic) that didn't grow as much as the others did, and I didn't transplant them because of the available space... I really don't know what to do with them
Any suggestions?

OMG there is no feeling in the world that matches when you sit and get high of your first grow! I'd say the closest feeling is the day you pass you driving test, but still no where near close.:woohoo:

So true

I'd give those lighter coloured ones another veg feed to try n get them to green up

So you think they I have some deficit? I was thinking the difference in color may be because of the different genetics...

None of them look underfed to me, less is more when it comes to feeding in compost.

I try and feed enough to just keep my plants looking nice but not real dark green. In my experience if you feed too much N even early on this can cause issues with taste and burn quality after the harvest.

Peace
