Other countries got better at basketball, the more they played.
I remember the days when college players in the US, were FAR superior to anything else, the world had to offer, on the basketball court, at the Olympics.
Those times have changed.
The same will happen for US soccer, IMO!!!

oh yeah! schweinsteiger was in one battle after another and really took some punishment as did mascherino but s/steigar was a giant along with lamm I find it hard to choose my man of the match,,so I wont lol,,,,,
sure as hell argentina will be back!,,bigger,,better and stronger,,,as will brazil and as England wont lol unless klinsmann or mouriniho are England boss,,s2

Germany was the better team throughout the tournament, on many different levels, and it was a real joy to watch them.
I've got no dog in this race since my home countries are Greece and USA, but if I could change a few things about the final it would be the following.
A: A healthy Di Maria, Aguero and healthy Lavezzi
B: A healthy Khedira since it may have been a quicker game with him in the line up. Game changer.
C: A better keeper than Romero, who had a few good games, but his quality showed towards the end. Did not have the distribution that King Neuer has. Then again, no one else does.
D: An early yellow for Muller to stop diving so much. Howedes did so as well towards the end.
just mention that in the sports news today ,,diago maradona expressed his feelings around messi getting the player of the tournament award,,maradona said that " messi didn't seem to want accept the award and didn't derserve it,,it should have gone to james rodregieuz",,,,s2

Germany set the standard on team play. Congrats to them. Unfortunately Argentina lost. Oh well next time but they better round off some rough edges and messi needs to play like he does in clubs for his country then they will. Lol. Just glad my sister in law who is Argentinan was not around. That woman call yell!............... go Mexico! In 4 years....

FIFA is indeed super corrupted, sadly.
but I can't just put them off my radar since football is just too good to simply brush aside; and the World Cup is the biggest competition... it is tricky to have to watch it while knowing who is behind organizing it.
Maradona tried to make a new thing to compete with FIFA, but he went to get funding from people with questionable political views such as his own; and it turned out to be way more biased and corrupted than FIFA itself, go figure...

I agree with you 100%, and as a life long football fan, completely frustrated but these guys have their hands wrapped around it all.
They have billions in their holding account they aren't using. They bribe government officials and conduct business without paying taxes to whatever countries they hold their events in.
Sepp Blatter and Platini are corrupt assholes who should be thrown into jail.
Along with Jack Warner, the former CONCACAF crook.
We need to burn and pillage the FIFA organization and form an independent, true non profit that is honest, transparent, and works for the people.
I'm just waiting for someone to start the FIFA revolt, hopefully someone does soon.
Help us Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're our only hope...
