I was supportive of both teams, but glad Argentina didn't get it because of that bs Hand of God win. What a crock of shit that was.

I see there was rioting in Buenos Aires last night because they lost, whats all that about? Argentina was very lucky to even be in the final really. Holland vs Germany would of been a better final but fair play to Argentina they won on pens.
And for the love of god how has Messi won the golden boot? At club level he's amazing with a good service around him but when he plays for his country he looks very ordinary.

We couldn't score, even though we played a good game, it was not good enough, we wasted two clear opportunities to score... Messi was non-existent in this game, and it seems like it will be his last world cup... imo, this was Argentina's chance to win, and now that it slipped from their hands, I dunno if they'll ever get it together to win another world cup in the foreseeable future.
I think they chose Messi as best player because Robben was taken off the list due to his multiple dives-cheating. And James would have been a good option, but did not play as many good games as Messi did; Messi only disappeared on one single game, yesterday's final nonetheless.

I think as younger US fans that played it in their youth are getting older the fan base is getting bigger. They understand the game. Tele hates it…because of continuous play…takes time away from advertising/commercials. I too went to the pubs to watch a lot of the games and the atmosphere was very festive. Enjoyed the cup and congrats to Deutschland.

That would be very nice, I am older and in my youth nobody in the states cares about Soccer. It was the time of Cosmos New York with Pele, Beckenbauer. Funny, it was enormus by that time Beckenbauer earned 1000000 Dollar (or German Marks?) Today the best Players get 40 - 50 millions.
Today it´s an different Soccer world in the USA I think. The 2014 US Team was very good, for me the development is always interesting.
