400 watt HPS random OG cycle

Welcome! :dance013:

What strain? Og kush seeds from the best buds I smoked over 2 years

How old? 6 weeks, just turned to 12/12 light

Space? 3x2.5x5.5 closet

Light? One 400 watt HPS reflector from China ("solar system" brand lol)

Nutrients? Started with fox farm grow big and sugar til week 4. Now they get big bloom tiger bloom and molasses. Will probably cut out tiger bloom toward the end but still undecided as to when.

In fox farm ocean forest 3 gallon pots

There are three growing in the flower are right now. I have another area ready with 200 watts of cfl with a clone tray on its way. I will either use rapid rooters or rock wool ( not sure if it matters that they will be living in soil). I have a friend with some clones of nice strains that I want to try and I don't really want to take any cuts from these guys ( I still will) now that they are going to flower. They are pretty small as well. Not really expecting a massive haul in buds this first go... I really just wanted to get this going and am verrry happy to be able to keep this going. Now that it's "up and running" it will only grow, pun fully intended. Flowering them a tad early is mostly because I want to some meds for personal use/need and I know they will keep stretching for a couple weeks. The one big advantage I have is there is a window right next to the closet. This is in a pretty windy area so there hasn't been an issue with heat at all. The room/ closet stay at 76-78 degrees inside the closet and 70-72 in the room. They were over watered and overfed in the beginning because I was just starting and hadn't grown ever. They all are currently drying from the last watering which was water and molasses only. I really want to move to coco coir or rock wool/coco for my next batch and am undecided simply because it is an unknown. I'm sure I would like it because of the way it dries faster but the salt buildup worries me. I've already overfed them once so we will see... Anyways, middle of week six. :woohoo:

Please let me know if I'm forgetting something.

What's bennie? Lol

I'm still laughing at whoever told me I'd get an ounce and a half from 4 plants. Crazy talk. Crazy talk I say.

They look decent so far.. is that tin foil on the wall in the second pic above? say it ain't so lol.. Remember to water/feed/water/feed with occa. plain pH'd water flush w/ the fox farm line in FFOF, no nutrients are needed within the first few weeks of transplanting into FFOF soil just plain pH'd water and make sure not to go full strength like whats on the bottle as you will surely fry them.. Just a few tips based on experience.

BTW bennies = beneficial microbes.. fox farm has 2 products that contain these which should be used together and work great with their soil : Kangaroots and Microbrew.. anyways good luck!.. your off to a good start!.. I'll be watching to see how they turn out for being bagseed. :ying:

They are bag seed from adub x bty og or cherry pie og.

+rep deoxy. Yep haven't given them over 1.5 tsp of the tiger bloom and they are getting the second feed of this with 1 tbsp big bloom, yes tablespoon (been fed with big bloom twice @ 1 tbsp). I've been watering plain fresh ph'd water, waiting three days, watering with nutrients, wait 3 days then water with 1 tbsp organic unsulfured molasses. Then repeat. I'm guessing ive got another 5-6 weeks. It only takes about a half gallon in that 3 gallon pot every three days.

That sounds about right.. just keep alternating till they are close to being done(2 weeks before harvest.. allowing the medium to dry some in between waterings) and then go plain pH'd water + molasses for a week.. then just plain water the last week before chop to flush em good.. the occa. plain pH'd water flush throughout the grow(every 3-4 weeks) will help keep salt build up at bay.. and deff. ditch the foil.. it's hardly reflective and creates hot spots which you don't want.

Here's a girl scout clone I got 2 weeks ago. Going into flower tonight. The thing grew fast and I'm hoping it triples in size so I get a nice 3-3.5 foot 3 or 4 ounce beast. In a 3 gallon pot. Lol. Okay so maybe it'll be more like 2 but I can dream.

Also, the "random og" plants are 20 days into flower... Just checked another page I'm logging in and realized they are going to be three full weeks or 21 days into flower as of tomorrow. Probably 40-50 days left at the most. Come on swellll!!!!:peacock:

They have had one flush and I think after this round of feeding and molasses they will get a second flush. Maybe. I don't want to EFF anything up. I may just wait til the last two weeks and flush everyday of the last week. With the last 3 days being complete darkness. Or more.

Lil update for the cool dudes following. Start watching now... I'll have 6 more lights up and running soon with 2 x 6 diff strains. All coco in 10 gallon pots. Canna substrate coco nutes. Not 100% yet but I will most likely run my strain I have now (aliendog x sour dubble) x bty og or cherry pie og... Not sure of which pollinated her. I was told this by the guy who I got the bud/seeds from. Second strain will undoubtably be girl scout. Then some stuff from cannabiogen - peyote purple, destroyer and paki chitral kush. Last but not least is the critical hog (critical mass x Tennessee hog).

What's up?! :tiphat:

Its been a while since I posted here. I found a group of cool dudes on GC that Ive been chit chatting with and learning from. The funny thing is, I think a good number of them also tip their hats here now and then as well. Lots of useful info both here and at GC.

My first round of plants, that you can see in my first few posts of this journal, are gone. Three of them died from over watering, lack of experience (not lack of reading, I do a TON of that) and the fourth one I was able to take many clones from. I selected two clones and went back to work.

This new attempt, in which I have been quite successful, I was able to get two plants all the way to 47 days (so far lol) and plan on harvesting the 28th of October. It will be nice to finally reach the first finish line. :tree: :tree: :tree:

I am now growing in 50/50 coco and perlite, using the h3ad formula for coco, thanks to the help of @ironhead2 and of course the dude that made that formula known.

I added a couple pics and will continue to update... I come over here now and then to check out mendo's 800 gallon smart pot outdoor grow and the sanctuary garden breeding madness.
