Howdy,

I am THCVhunter and Im originally from skunk mag forums.
I have lurked here at ICMag for a few years doing research. (I envy anybody who was a friend to LMN, and Im also sorry for your loss)

So whats up with THCV?
I broke my back when I was 13 and had a raised-cage fusion(the grandslam of fusions) at 22. I returned to work the next year but by age 25 I had new pains and problems that were way worse than before the surgery. At 27 I was on Dilaudid, 28 Im IV'ing Dilaudid and began epidural steroid injections. I became an asshole and decided to walk away from my soulmate.
I finally got off all drugs and moved from Ny to WA so I can grow my own medicine :)
I started growing in '08 and did hydro for a year. I researched Rev a bit and switched to soil. I burned 7/10 beans by setting them in 5 gal super soil, uncooked!
Well the 3 that survived changed my life. CBr1947(aka cindys rhino) . After my second bowl I gave my niece a piggyback ride. One of the best memories I have. So I dedicated all my time and energy towards learning about cannabis. I researched MS and Parkinsons as I developed leg and nerve spasms. I learned that these patients found relief with cannabis, esp if it had THCV. Well I was hooked on learning as much as I could.
This past Fall I was handed some oil made from a high-THCv Jtr - no more spasms and the pain was bearable - I could live not just survive. So with the help of my parents I moved out here in Wa to grow and pollen-chuck my meds.
My goal is to create a THCV bomb using that Jtr cut and a bunch of Africans.

I also hope to make friends along the way and to give back some of the emotional support Ive received over the years.

Cant imagine what you've been through but glad that you have found your solution. You've found that THCv works better for you than CBD? Happy to have you here and welcome to ICMag.

Thank you Critter and Croptober

Yes, THCV works better than CBD for me.
CBD does work well - it loosens up my muscles and reduces much of the inflamation I get so that I can crack my back and feel some relief.
THCV goes further and stops the nerve tremors/spasms that cause my abdomen and legs to convulse. It also helps me urinate- the muscle/nerve spasms cause hypertension in my bladder and urethra so I always have to pee and can never empty my bladder. W/O THCV I'm more comfortable with a catheter and at 31 that ain't cool.
So any cannabis helps me forget the pain a lil bit. CBD helps with the inflamation. THCV helps everything.

My uncle has diabetic neuropathy and like me tried all the non-opiods and all the crazy injections. I gave him a bit of JTR oil that I was given and he was finally able to sleep throughout the night. For 4 days he felt amazing, very little pain. But, he can't take the lethargy/amotivation from cannabis so he is going to stick with Lyrica.

For me, Lyrica and Neurontin ruined my brain. I used to be really smart. Now, after years of that poison I have developed dyslexia, lost my balance in dark or going up/down stairs, and my memory is the worst its ever been.
When I take dilaudid Im so happy for the relief but soon after I notice the pain again and try to hide under more and more dilaudid - I feel pain killers reduce our pain tolerance... Ive also had to stop drinking - Used to be in my late 20's I'd go out binge drinking with my buddy and at the end of the night I'd be debating going to the E.R. I found out alcohol greatly reduces my pain tolerance; infact I'm in super discomfort when I drink and I don't know about you guys but discomfort can be way worse than pain.

Yes, I am exceedingly grateful I've found medical cannabis. I always correct people around me: that I am imbibing medicine or cannabis, not pot or drugs. That is something I feel strongly about - if grown poorly its pot, grown organically its medicine.
This medicine gave me the ability to live life instead of survive it so I call it cannabis, not pot; I call it a medicine, not a drug.

sorry, yes the oil is de-carbedBHO... the tickest most potent Ive seen - actually difficult to get out of syringe unless i warm it with body heat.... Im down to my last 2 syringes so Im saving those for when Ican find a job(perfect for medicating at work). I tried somebody's IsoHO and didnt like it. horrible taste and not as potent(though that's probably down to the strain)

Ooops, meant to add that Im vary weary of Butane oil; if its not from a closed-loop system I'll stick with flowers.
Speaking of, Ive got 2 zips of Harlequin I was given that I need to make into a tincture. Where do you all get your glycerin? Amazon? (trim needs to be de-carbed for glycerin, right? never tried making glycerin before, only everclear, but I want something I can use before driving or near work)

Is African Herbman still around?

Came across his work on here and am absolutely amazed. I'm finding there are a group of great members here who are dedicated to strain preservation. I love it

If he is not, is his work still around?

It is one that i didn't stay on for very long, i don't remember the details, sorry. It has only been a couple of decades, since i was working with the 'specialists'. Gave up on those drugs and decided to go herbal, which works pretty well for all but the worse fibro episodes.
