need advice.. my 7yr old

Hi, I'm new to the site... I was lead here by googling dogs with cancer and came across the boxer with bone cancer thread... The person never did reply how the dog made out...?

I have a 7 yr old female German Shepherd named Vesta, 4 days ago I brought her to the vet with a bump on her rear left leg, was limping, I thought she hurt it fucking around with my other sheps... They do play hard :/ .. Turns out its bone cancer. The vet said its aggressive and it probably has already spread. he suggested amputation followed by chemo and radiation... I'm opting outta the chemo and radiation.
I'm unsure about the amputation... She has hip problems and I'm not sure she can make it being a one legged dog. I mentioned pot oil to him as an alternative... He said, and I quote "what does she have to lose? And it will also help with the pain". He said he's skeptical about all the claims made for curing cancer but the survival rate for bone cancer is very low 0% without amputation, rad and chemo... With all that crap.. 50% for a year... That just ain't good enough for me.

I put her on RSO that afternoon, made from critical kush from Barney's farms.. Suppose to have 2.1 cbd 25% thc...
I had some on hand because I have made some 4 months ago to a guy I work with, he has/had lung cancer that spread to his ribs.. Had some ribs cut out and opted out of rad and chemo.. 4 months later.. The surgeon can't see any tumours on the X-ray.. He's cured, I guess.. I'm still in shock about the whole thing... I keep thinking they made a mistake... But he seems sure and he's back to pt work and feeling better. We just got the good news a week ago, then my dog gets cancer. Fuck!!

I started at 1 grain... But was too much for her... Went down to a 1/2 grain 2x a day... I'm just scared dosage is to low to help. I will try and build it up tho. And I'm giving her omega 3-6-9 gel caps.

I'm looking for advice from people who have dealt with dog cancer.
Should I do the amputation and continue with RSO? Or will the oil fix the leg as well??.. Maybe I should just wait and see how it goes...

I'm freaking out... It's just too hard to think clearly when it's close to home. Please help me with some advice.

And for those about to tell me I'm fucked for giving my dog oil... Just move on to another thread... I've talked to my vet about it...

If she is in pain, one option is to give Vesta Tramadol. It is an intermediate level pain-killer that is sort of like Vicodin 'Light'. Vets give Tramadol prescrips. to some dogs that have chronic eye pain.

I think it's important that animals not be in pain.

wish i had any experience with this shit (and in the same breath glad i have never had to deal with it!), but as you say, when it hits close to home.. how can you make a rational decision. personally, id keep on the RSO. build dose up slowly. but thats just me. I do know THC/CBD helps with inflamation big time, unsure what up with his hips. so its possible the RSO will help out the legs as well.

good luck man, and i wish i had something more useful to offer.

She's a German Shepherd... Genetically bad hips, I had them xrayed about 1-2 years ago.. I think her hips were rated poor... I posted a message on Rick Simpsons Facebook.. He said to hold off on amputation... Use oil topically as well and give It time... I will post results good or bad in hopes it may help some others with similar situation/ decisions.
The pot oil really helps with pain, I can see she isn't in much pain at the moment, sleeps like a log. But thanks for advice, if pain becomes a prob ill look into that.

I am confused here how is amputation and chemo, radation less harmful than a plant with no known overdose amount? how are the side effects of amputation and chemo and radiation less harmful than the side effects of thc? sleep and hunger oohh what bad side effects for a drug to have!! wait till you see your dog on all that other stuff you will think the side effects of thc are evil just pure evil. I have actually seen the demise of common sense and thinking for oneself, me. Let me translate, the doctor recommended hacking the dogs leg off and then poisoning it to make it better? oww oww that hurts why would you do that to me? did I displease you? You do not torture something and make it better sorry.

Cancer is the most evil thing I have ever come across, I pray one day you take a pill and it goes away. But that's not today. I have done much reading, testimonials, support groups.... There is no right answer. Pot oil, helps her sleep and helps with pain... I say there's a snow balls chance in hell oil will cure bone cancer. Not good, but there is still a chance and that's the only chance she's got. Amputation, chemo and radiation are what is available...it's not less harmful then pot... But surgery is effective at removing the tumour... Unfortunately for bone cancer in dogs I believe it's pointless... It's already spread. RSO is the only chance she's got, chemo and radiation for this type in dogs only extend life a few months if that... That is not worth it.
So day 11 on RSO she is handling it well, and I've upped the oral dose abit. But I'm keeping it at level she's ok with... Upping slowly at this point. It's very hard to measure when it's so concentrated, next batch im going to dilute 10:1 with coconut oil and put in capsules to keep dose more consistent.
She is still limping badly and I don't see any dif in tumour size.. Not that I have figured out how to measure to compare.
I give half dose in the morn and she is still active, playing ball in the swimming pool I have built for the dogs in the back yard.

Have you thought about lowering the dosage but upping intake like 1/3 grain 3x a day? I hope you find your answer soon.

I have thought about 3x.. Even 4 but I really don't know if I can do it and still work. I'll have to stay with morn and night for now...but I can see her tolerance is building fast

Have you tried putting a band aid and RSO on the bump? I remember reading a RSO thread and this guy was using it for his wife as a topical for her breast cancer and within 48 hours it disappeared.

Canadian dub:

Hurry up and get to 50 posts so I can message you...

My parents have a GSD with bladder cancer, curious about your cbd strain.

Canna-tech ... Animals are usually pets ;) lol but i have heard of a few people keeping plants as pets. Just teasing. Thanks for advice, all is appreciated!!!

I got 2 small bottles of cbd from royal queen seeds in Netherlands. I took some myself before I gave it to my dog... I'm the royal food tester, I didn't die, but it didn't taste the best... I was not "high" but I could feel tingling throughout my body.. And kinda relaxed... I'm usually high strung with short fuse.. I was way more relaxed.. But I did not have enough for myself.. I used the rest for my dog and I mixed with oil that I baked in oven for 2 hours at 350-360f.. To burn off thc and leave CBD intact. Then mixed 3:1 virgin coconut oil:distiller oil and sucked mixture in syringe.
And I also mixed oil that I made using isopropyl and decarbed at 250f until bubbling stopped.. I sucked all the stuff In syringes
I bought 1ml gel capsules at health store.
Made 2 different caps.. One for morning and one for night, the reason... She will not eat when she is high..
Morning pill started with..
2 drops 3:1 mixture
10 drops cbd from royal queen
Now about a month.. She is taking
6 drops and I'm about to bump to 8... I'm also outta cbd from royal queen... I've ordered 10 more bottles, but I think canadian customs has intercepted them.
Evening pill
Started at 1/4 grain RSO oil
2drops 3:1
10drops cbd
She's at
3/4 grain
6 drops 3:1 mixture
10 drops cbd

THE CBD OIL WILL LEAK OUT OF CAPS... you need to keep up right.. I use a piece of styrafoam and refrigerate...

I also have her on a meat and veggie diet... They say carbs and sugar are fuel for cancer.. If you love your dog, throw the f'n "dog" food where it belongs.. In the garbage.. I have no doubt now. Shit food is responsible for the majority of cancer in dogs, my other dog Maya had a tumour on her lip a week ago... We have got it removed and waiting on biopsy.. My dogs will never eat shit in a bag... Ever again.
I cook the food... Raw is not a good idea... They're tummies are sensitive... It is also almost impossible for they're digestive system to break down un cooked veggies and meat.
Do not over cook veggies... Lightly steam at low temps.. Put in a pot, put small amount of water on bottom, put on stove at low/med heat until veggies are soft... I suggest cooking meats basically the same as well... Or they will have non-stop diarea. I have tried the raw diet... I'm not a believer..

I used critical kush frombarneys farms.. It is 25% thc 2.1% cbd I suggest burning off the thc to start.. It didn't start well for my girl. She peed herself and was a bit paranoid... I sat up with her most of the night the first couple days until she came down a bit. I also suggest mess 2x a day. 12 hrs apart. You will find your dog will probly not eat when high... Best time is feed 1x a day 12hrs after morning meds before you give evening med...
Another note.. She seemed very constipated first couple weeks... And poo was like black tar.. I would suggest trying some mineral oil to help... And you might have to clean their bums for a bit.. Lol. Just head up.

As for how she's doing after 1month... I feel the tumour has not grown... I have opted outta amputation... I don't feel she's in pain an seems the tumour is stopped or slowed... She is still not using her leg and seems the more high she is the less she puts weight on it... Kinda weird.
She goes for chest and leg X-rays on August 5 to compare tumour size and see if its spread... At this point, not being a vet, just visual... It's no worse, no better.

Another note... Canadian govt sucks. But there is a med dispensery in Vancouver. They have a application package for pets that you can down load and print, if you can find a vet that will sign you can get some meds for your pets.

I saw TGA is working with a 27% cbd ACDC, they'll probably have something in the works soon. Redeyed Genetics is working with a Harlequin and Cannatonic too.

I've located charlottes we'd strain on medicalseeds.com.. After some research.. I'm not sure if it's legit... ??
My shark shock are about a foot high... Hurry up!! I'm going to put in hydro this weekend.. They in dirt now, I want to keep as o,natural as possible but taking to long..

Vestas tumour exploded in growth after about 3 weeks of no growth... It is quite abit bigger. And grew fast. Things that I changed.. I added gelatin capsules, used more distilled oil(baked oil at 350 for 2 hrs).. To burn off some thc and increase amount of cbd so she wouldn't be so high and eat a bit more.. She did start to eat more.. But I fear the tumour ate as well..

Changes... I'm increasing amount of thc she gets 2x a day... 2grains RSO in morn, 1 eve
2+2 capsules of mushroom stuff, recommended by Disney
2mls vit D 2x a day
1ml cbd @ 2.6%cbd 2x a day
I've put her on coconut diet... 0 carbs, 2 pieces of chicken, 30mls cocnut oil 3x a day
No more gelatin caps... Is more difficult to administer cbd tho.. I use syringe in the corner of mouth.. Thank god she loves me.. Cause I can tell she hates it.

Things I'm waiting to do...

I'm waiting on d-limonene in capsules.. Can't buy otherwise in Canada.. I guess the stuff is really bad if inhaled?..
I want to start juicing cbd shark shock when it's big enough.
Increase thc.
I've filled out application with Vancouver dispensary. So I can get a better supply of cbd.. The stuff I get now is from Netherlands.. 3 for 3 packages have made it through :) but it's not something I want to gamble on.

When the tumour grew, I called the vet, re-explored the idea of amputation... It is a major surgery, with long healing time and many chances of complications... I called my other vet for second opinion... This type of cancer is fast spreading, it typically spreads to lungs first.. Other bones and organs and even the brain.. They are only giving her a few weeks to a couple months at most.. Both recommend making her time enjoyable vs putting her through the operation... So I'm done thinking about amputation, but not giving up.

I find it hard to go it alone... It is hard enough to focus at work, I don't sleep well, I read and think about this shit all day all night.. Every idea has 2 sides, it takes forever to put an idea into action... Never goes as good as on paper..
Eg. Give RSO... Cancer tumours shrink.. Um no.. It's hard to put something you love through all this shit.. But if you don't... It's the end. And it's not guaranteed. So my dogs last days might be spent high as a kite.. And she doesn't like it.
