I am a little disappointed that the MaydayPAC looks like it will fall short of it's 4th of July goal, but I am hoping to enjoy some good food and fireworks regardless!

For those that haven't heard of the MaydayPAC this is a movement being lead by Lawerence Lessig to fight corruption in US politics, and to take our democracy back from the 1% that our politicians answer to. Lawerence Lessig (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Lessig) is a Haravard Law Professor, and one of the smartest people in America. He understands these issues much better than I could ever hope to.

I hope somebody swoops in at the last minute, and pays off the last 1.5 million needed for MaydayPAC. I have a feeling that might happen as there are a lot of very rich people supporting this.

Where did your dad server at in WW2 Burn?

My grandfather got hit by a mortar on Okinawa, but survived. He passed away a few years ago though.

My step-grandfather was on iwo jima, and also survived and went on to become a vice president of Motorola. He's long retired, but still kicking.

They were a strong generation.

I was away frome the internet most of the afternoon, but since I started the tnread this morning Mayday recieved abot 1.3 million dollars. They might just make it yet.

Well just in case anybody was actually interested, the MaydayPAC finished the day at $5,180,055, more than meeting their goal. Close to 2 million was donated yesterday alone.

Election season is going to be interesting this year, and if they accomplish everything they set out to do, we will have a very different congress in 2016.
