So it started on one strain, 5 out of 30 plants, thought that mabye it was just a wonky set of clones, but it just kept getting worse. The first 5 that started going south look like this

Being in denial initially, I figured it was just this strain hating life, but now i'm seeing this on other plants

are they russets or broad mites? I have a grower's edge ifone scope and havet been able to find them. This is why initially i was convinced it was nutriet related, but as its persisted and spread, i'm starting to dread the russet mite as my buddy seems to think. is he right? what can i do.
I'm in living soil, keeping it organic with the nutes, but i'll unleash nuclear war if i have too

Symptoms include initial yellowing which made me think Mg or iron deficiencies, and side-ways hooked leaf tips. was able to bring green back to the leaves with some foliar spraying and teas that had mg and kelp amond other things, the leaves start to canoe and are thick, velvety and stiff and shrinking. Each plant has 12 cu ft of soil, so i doubt they are rootbound. They are in a super soil, but the first 5 start showing symptom when they were in 5 gal containers with 50/50 FFOF and FFHF, before going into the raised beds.

Looks like broadmite damage to me you need to scope your plants to know for sure but that tacoing leaf upward curl is what I had back in the day with broads from progressive options could be wrong though scope them girls get back to us hope I'm not right.

Matter of fact I took a better look at some of the pics I'm pretty certain you have BMs or some kind of mite scope them girls but that looks pretty classic tell tale see the little spots the upward curl

I've spent a long time with my scope and not found anything, but its not agreat scope at that magnification. I'm thinking of spraying avid or its equivelent, the quali-pro 0.15 ec abamectin, which seems to be the equivelent of avid and half the price. Is this a good plan?
I have already sprayed spinosad and azamax preventatively but the problem persists.

You checked undersides of the leaf ?if you can try a x100 scope you can get them pretty cheap. I shut down our grow and moved New plants have no experience with actually killing them just being honest but there's a broadmite thread and plenty of info on here how to do so. Did you take in some new cuts any idea how you may have got the ? After the fiasco with duds from the LA cup were pretty much shut off from taking in outside clones.

the russet mites made the jump from the potato crops I believe... "heard" they were the straight up cyborg/ pain in your ass/ scrap all your shit...or as my friend stated when we left a friends place who had some RM "I am glad I don't have a grow currently, I would have to burn all the clothes im wearing right now".. so hopefully its not RM. I have only personally seen it when it was affecting colas, and you would definitely be able to see them if you have been looking as hard as you say you have. is that supersoil still hot maybe?? best of luck with the issue.

That doesn't have the same yellowing was told to look for. That looks like an overdose of a micronutrient to me

I have broad mites that I'm battling right now, the first sign for me that there was something non deficiency related going on was the leaf bend. Curling and clawing happens with over watering, heat stress, etc. A lot of the other signs can also be miss diagnosed. But this bend in the picture I have never seen before and caused me to take a second look. I found them early, when the plants still looked amazing with tons of new growth (short of a few of these). Dunked the plants in Avid at 1ml/gallon, (you can also foliar spray them) and 24 hours later just seeing dead mites, and plants still look great.

I want to start off by saying in no way am I an expert.

If you want to kill russet mites or control their population down to less then 10% I would recommend this form of treatment. It is organic and I have used it on two grows now dealing with these bastards.

It is important to ph your solution after mixing to 5.8 to 6.0. A major boost in kill would be to add ice to your solution. Russet mites hate extreme cold or heat. You will not see a difference until about day 2 or 3. They, will not be moving or act very very eradic.

Day 1

60 MLS a gallon of Big time Exterminator. Be carefully that it's not the new formula which is 3X more powerful

Day 2

60 ml of big time exterminator

Day 3

Either mycotrol or botanigard at 10 MLS a gallon. Mycotrol is OMRI CERT. botanigard is not but they are the same solution from the same company.

Day 4

Nothing. Plant recovery

Day 5

Big time exterminator 60 ml a gallon

Day 6

Mycotrol or botanigard at 10 MLS agallon.

AFTER DAY SIX SPRAY EVERY OTHER DAY FOR A WEEK. AFTER THAT ONCE EVER 3 DAYS ALTERNATE BOTH PRODUCTS
I hope this helps anyone who tries it
