Off-gassing and toxicity of building materials in CEA

Im in the middle of a build out and at the point of needing some caulk/sealants. Wondering what is the best route to go with thats available at the local hd/lowes/ace so i dont make the room too toxic too use.

I have found ecobond but its going to take longer than i really want to get here.

From what i understand great stuff and most caulks are pretty nasty off-gassers.

Any advice on primers/paints that are good too would be appreciated :) I have some bear ultra premium plus laying around already that i would like to use if it wont create problems.

Fwiw, I used great stuff throughout both my veg an flower rooms and have never had any issues. I let it dry completely and aired out the rooms before I put any plants in. Same for my partners, we all use Great Stuff without issues...

Lol A/L... i should of asked. Didnt want you to get sick of me :)

How long does it take to air our room .... couple days or till you notice smell gone?

Only reason im asking is i need to get stuff in there asap as some have some serious vigor apparently and shot up on me quickly so i dont want them to get too big. Plus my veg room is in a closet that is in same room...dont want all those to keel over while i do it:)

Thanks.

hey Catatafish, I wouldn't sweat it very much for caulks and sealants. They will set up quickly and the smell will dissipate fine on its own. I used literally thousands of dollars worth on green glue, accoustic sealant, and various brands of caulks and sealants (fire caulk, etc..) I have zero off gas issues, there are none in my room and I used a shit load of sealants....

there are reported issues with some foam sealants though like good stuff but I used it in a couple of places where the application made sense.

Get a good filtration mask, the kind with the activated carbon etc... and wear it when you are working, ventilate the area and I would not expect issues.

I have a good filtration mask and was planning on wearing it. Couple hours of poison smell is ok :) Hell even a day or two isnt a big deal.

I was reading else wear people losing genetics up to 1-2 months afterwards in some of the threads on here so thats what had me worried.

I have a window inside the enclosure that i will open and put a fan by to help clear the smell. I seal the window last i guess.

I only have 1 wall i built so im guessing i will probably be using a lot less than some of the other folks did and shouldnt have much to worry about. I just divided 1/3 off an existing room essentially so the other 3 walls wont be touched other than the window sealing.
