Hey all!

Name's Jack as you could probably guess. I do not have the experience in growing or extracting concentrates but what I do have is a good understanding of the analytical equipment involved with cannabis testing (Potency testing, residual solvent screening, etc)

I'm involved in the cannabis industry through this as the company I work for refurbishes LC/MS, GC/MS, HPLC equipment and I also have the centrifuges, shakers, and everything in between for equipment!

Would love to chat about the 3rd party lab testing market anytime!

Cheers

Welcome (pretty soon) to Colorado. There is starting to be some action around testing edibles for portion control. There has been a lot of drama about newbies eating a whole candy bar (up to 10 portions) and tripping out and doing something stupid and getting killed. The state is struggling with it, but I think the state will come up with portion control, test for strength, and test for mold and pesticides. Anyway there should soon be a big demand for skills like yours.

Thanks BOMBAYCAT! Yes, I've seen these stories of an individual falling off a balcony after eating 4 brownies and somehow the media blaming a murder on the husband eating edibles. As of July 1st it looks like the standards and laws will be in place for edible testing + QC which is nice. I was shocked to see the results of the potency testing done comparing all the candy bars that were on the market at the time and one in particular showing .3 mg of THC content per 100 mg! On a recent trip to CO, partially for market research, all the budtenders were decent at explaining how edibles should be used, specially since the drinks contain as much as 10 servings as well! In my opinion it then boils down to user-responsibility as most things do.

No kidding !

My first experience with this was a Doobie Brothers concert in the late 70's. I ate too many pot brownies.

I spent half the concert in the bathroom, sitting on the pot, just leaning my head against the wall.

A pot OD is no fun.

I think this should be taught in public schools, just like sex ed. It's a basic part of health that kids need to know.

I think there's a lot of folks here thinking about CO.

And while I'm dreaming ... I'd like to see some high-speed rail to get people up to the slopes. :dance013:
