Watering an hour before lights out

I see your point but I'm not jacking up my electric bill any more than I have to. I'm a subsistence grower.

Where does your RH peak at lights off without the fans?

I can do this during Veg, but once they get big enough if I cut the fans at lights off the RH spikes at like 90%. Although, this is a tent in a closet so I don't have the same air flow you do.

For shits and giggles though, a 4" inline fan run for 24 hours a day, rather than 12 hours a day, costs (at $0.15 per Kwh) about an extra $0.22. Over the course of a year that's a whopping cost of about $55, or less than $5 per month. I don't know about you, but I can spend more than $5 in a single trip to taco bell. Fans on for me :dance013:

I actually water one of my 20kw rooms at night about about 5-8 hours before the lights come on during the night cycle. I do it for convenience of watering schedule as we already have another 24kw running during the day as well as a 100' greenhouse. These last few rounds in the room that we water at night have had enormous buds and explosive growth. I know it's not optimal, but hell it's working like a charm. Just as well as the room that is watered during the day.

5 Gallon Root Maker Pots filled with 100% Canna Coco.

Who said I even run the exhaust fan 12 hours a day? It runs for 1/2 hr then shuts off 1.5 hrs then another half hr on etc. Oh it sucks juice, it's a 130w 6" vortex. I grow in a walk in closet that's divided into a flower room and veg room- 5X12'- 6 plants in each. 1000w in the flower and 400w and cfls in veg. Even though it's almost July I can draw outside air here at the top of the planet that's always between 40-50F in summer coming out of my garage. I've checked RH in the flower section and its the same as what it is outdoors. Right now it's raining outside and the RH is 40% in the flower room, dark period. It's usually in the 20-30%. RH isn't a problem in summer. I'm sure my plants would say say turn the damn heat up in the dark period if they could talk.:tiphat:

Holy confirmation bias!

"Thanks for all your info about how it's not bad but could you please give me info about how it's bad to agree with my prior stance?" lol

HAHAH, Well then?!

I really do miss living in the Pacific NW. It could be raining and 45 outside, but since the grow room was a cozy 75 the RH was always perfect in there. When I moved up North I was running a 5000BTU window AC unit to keep the place cool at first. Turns out, all I needed to do was crack the window about 6". $$$ in my pocket! Now I'm back in California, hooray for droughts and 2x the cost per kwh...

Are you running CO2? Because you are totally set up to be.

I thought you needed a sealed room for co2. Please explain how I would do it if you have time. My conditions will change drastically in about 3 months when I can't draw very much freezing outside air. In winter I usually draw air from the first floor of the house and vent the exhaust into the second story to help heat it. I have plenty of vents in the house so it's not a closed system. RH is always low in winter, never had mold. I run lights on during the night when the temp in my house is in the 50-60s. Lights off temps in my grow area are in the 50s. Seeing how I don't sell my crop I mostly choose "cheapass" and "I don't care" over a dialed in environment.
