He didn't get roughed up. They arrested him and he resisted. He didn't just whip out his license to have cannabis. The weed doesn't pass the eye test either. I know and everyone else knows that it does not look like personal use cannabis. I am a cannabis supporter. I don't care what anybody does with cannabis. But it doesn't look personal to me and I am far from ignorant about cannabis. So what would an average leo think?
Med-man you know that is not personal. You were selling. I don't care. But you were selling.
The way the article is written makes me think you did not immediately show them the license. You didn't have it with you?
So you mishandled the situation. You also had "personal use" cannabis packaged for sale. No one needs that much pot while riding around. That would be a month for a smoker. Maybe not edibles but you were not making edibles driving in your car.
You needed to say, "Hey look I know this looks bad but I have a license. I know you have to arrest me to figure it out." But even then that weed does not pass the experienced pot smokers eye test. So it isn't passing LEOs eye test.
You were selling but you dodged a bullet. You didn't get physically hurt. They didn't infringe your rights you put your own rights in danger. And now you want paid? You were already paid. You didn't get charged with dealing and you were dealing.
Do the right thing and let it go.

Brutality, threatening & harassment are inexcusable. Using a medical cannabis card as a cover to sell weed is pretty low as well. If the second part is true, I would call it a draw and move on.

Seriously man divided into baggies and burnt out light? I use to drive around with 1.3lb on me just for fun as my licensed allowed that but never with cash and broken down.

Who cares why he was pulled over who Cares why he had his meds split up, maybe his light just went out maybe they were 20 different strains in different baggies? Theses questions are irrelevant Medmans civil rights were interfered with and violated that's the point RCMP and police need to learn they work for the people not against! To many police think they are gods and need to be put in there place so for me personally if more people like Medman cared about there civil rights being violated and doing something wen they are violated then police would learn a lot faster that there civil servants not higher authorities! We fight the fight to make this "hobby" legal. The law does not want it to be legal. They look for reasons to use as examples why it is a bad idea to legalize it.
Then somebody like med-man comes along and gives them an example of what they are worried about.
Then after handing the enemy what they need/want he wants to sue them for no reason and basically get money from the taxpayers because he could not cooperate and show him his license and had stuff packaged for sale. If he was legal why wouldn't he cooperate.
People in non legal states don't cooperate because it won't help and will make it worse. We don't say yes to a search. med-man is legal. You cooperate. It doesn't matter if they search. OH wait!! It did matter because med-man was up to no good.
I am a product of the late 60s and early 70's. Sex, drugs and Rock & Roll. Down with the pigs and all that. However, med-man isn't on my team. He isn't like my friends or myself. We don't do anything to hurt the cause. We don't flash and we lay low.
Med-man is a liability and needs to be culled from the team.
