Okay Fellow Minions. 200 gallon smarties outside. 25 of them. What is the best way to mulch them. The soil is getting too dry on top and there is inconsistency in the wetness in different depths and areas since I am spot watering the dry areas. I don't mind if the mulch is living or not, but if living it has to grow quickly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheap and easy = bale of straw

Break it up and cover soil.
Water goes right through it and begins retaining moisture lost to sun.

Figure about 3 - 100 lb bales of straw for all your plants for $20

I was leaning toward the straw but thought I would ask. So, straw on top of existing soil and about an inch of new soil on top of the straw? Does the straw decompose in the fall? And keep the new soil and straw away from the stalk by a few inches if I remember correctly.

You don't have to cover it with soil.
The extra soil will just sponge the moisture to the surface, then evaporate.
Leaves you with the same problem.

I try to keep a min 6" of space around stem.

The straw will decompose over the winter, but not completely.

Me too
As I pluck and thin leaves, goes right onto the mulch/ground cover.

SG,
Understood most of what you were saying on DCD(D City Diesel)
What is BCD? (Blue city diesel?) Got the BW= (Black water)

That number 11 is Diesel dominant I bet because of the clumping growth of CHem and Diesel type buds. Also light yielding. Too bad it doesn't carry the terpene profile for smell.

What growth characteristic (phenotype identifier) are you seeing in the BW dom and same for the BCD characteristic or expression? The BCD are all shorter and look clumpy in the bud growth.

#7 amd 8 look great. (Best yielders?) #12 looks like biggest main bud. Feel free to post up pheno variations of BCD dominant pheno and BW dom characteristics so we can identify them as you have seen the parents.

BCD is an old cut derived between DJ shorts blueberry and Soma's New York city diesel.
BW = Mendo Purps x SFV-OG

These girls were all short vegged in 7 gal pots, so yields may not be what I'm used to, per plant.
They will all yield 6-8 ozs (except the runt)

At this point in week 6 terpenes are just getting pronounced.
Not real concerned of terpenes at all, least not until testing for THC levels.
Once the most potent phenos are found, then the best flavors related to the line will stay in cutting form until further breeding is warranted.

Once the best are found, I'll detail them better.

Some more noc pics from my tent. Between 3 and 4 weeks in. I'm calling it 3 just to be on the safe side. Besides, from what I've seen of all the cuts taken from the mom I had, there's an onset of density around day 60'ish so I'm in no hurry. Also got two ravnus babies coming along...will get pics of them later when they are more up to it.

Been vegging my halo 2x for 3 months and have kept her under 2 ft tall. L x W = 2.5 x 2.5'...More budsites than I ever thought possible on a plant...gonna be a massive yielder. Been finishing her in veg in a 20 gal for 2-3 weeks and just flipped her today. Can't wait for gloriously sweet tasting buds from her.

Have a Grape ape X SFV-OG. Similar to your BW. Getting moved up to a 7 gallon pot to be flowered out.

Just wondering what your use too?, 6-8 is a great yield in 7 gal if you ask me.

Right now I'm averaging 10-16 ozs a plant grown in 17 gal pots.
So 6-8 in a 7 gal is real nice yielding IMO.

I've been asked before of what I'm looking for in my breedings.
Simple answer: Everything!

OkOk! First photo drop of my Halo2x in over a month. I had her in a 3gal for 2 months and was continually trimming her so she wouldnt get rootbound. Once I found out I was moving to a bigger space I started to let her grow out a bit and now she has vegged in a 20 gal selfwick for 30 days or so.

She is the "star" in my garden. Didn't mean to shape her like that, but from one point of the star to the opposite its 32 x 32" and she is 1 ' 6" tall. Hadn't officially measured her until today so I'd say I am going to get a fat yield out of her. Hopefully grabbing down at least 4-6 oz from her although I don't know how much light penetration I will get on the lower node sites because as you can tell it's impossible to see through her from from side to the other. Very thick canopy.

Very happy with her so far, all i've ever used in my garden is rope, i don't scrog or anything of the such, if a branch flops, I tie it in the opposite direction. The Halo2x has responded well to this training; something worth noting I suppose.

Also in the garden shots is Donkey Kong, Gorilla Glue #4, GSC Forum Cut, and Mob Boss (mashed in the back right corner).

Halo was the star of the show before she degraded into perm pre-flower.
Working hard to get a duplicate of her.

Very grower friendly(feed & train), resilient, excellent stone, and yields fat.
Love Halo
