Hello IC !

I just want to share few things that i've learned after over a year with playing with coco. For many, many years i've been using soil based medium but time needed to manage so much forced me in to coco method. My first coco run was 4 plants in 1m tent under single 600W, i've hand water them and i ended up with total disaster in this tent. I decided to make some systems to make life easier but whole conception of DTW just did not broke thru my aversion to wasting so i decided that systems has to DTRecycle, so they are and it works.
I still feel like a newbie about coco, i still learn new things how to improve everything but at this point i can ensure everyone that DTR works well if you fallow a few basic tips like :
monitoring PH&EC daily, obviously PH like to drop EC rice but that can be solved easily with water and PHup.
coco should never dry out
make sure that enough solution going thru pot daily, i have one long watering for 30 comes always 1h after flip, this works as daily flush
another thing is size of rez, it can't be to big to make sure that plants will use whole solution in 4-5 days.

Here's my mates grow, this is His second grow in life...

This project still needs improvement and i was on kind of holiday so please excuse total mess and so many burned leafs, lights was a bit to low and there was a bit warm, up to 28-30 for a week before axe.
It's all ChemD, 8 plants in 3m x 1.5m tent under 3x 660W lumatek+philipsGP, in september i will hang there one more shade with 660W and there's more drippers needed per plant for better flush but already this project yielded about 91oz of chemD... for me fair enough.

Leptosoma Impressive ,good haul for three lites .So do you just top up rez once a week or change it out every 5 days ? I tried DTR with mixed results..Bud

stoned40yrs, thanks!

Buddler, I top up when there's not enough solution to pump up. In 3rd-7th week it takes quicker to empty rez about 3 days. In first 3 weeks after flip and in last two weeks plants like to drink less and whole rez might last for 5-6 days.

Here' my tent for selection, i flower there 64 females, 6 different strains all in one system, it's a first run of this system and also here few things must be improved :

And here's a few pix of my old selection tent, very similar to previous one but it's a smaller tent (1.2m) :

Here's a first and a last scrog we ever did for whole tent, it's my mates system. 1 OGKA plant per tent, this photo was taken just before flip and before tanks been connected, I always connect pumps and tanks about one week after flip, whole veg and first week of 12/12 plants growing hand watered like moms/cuttings/seedlings. Also after first week of 12/12 i always flush plants and change nutes from COGr vega to COGr flores.

I can only imagine how much time all that LST and training must require. You're a plant shaping master. Those canopies are dialed.

The Phillips GP's at the tits too. What kind of ventilation are you working with in there? Looks like an 8" fan with a wye branch to two 8" filters? Are you enriching with CO2?

If you're stateside hit me up. I'd love to be able to help you out on the $$$ front with your coming additions.

Thanks Mack! Yeah, this was pretty smelly room, i still can't work out how ppl getting away with planting whole room of cheese lol
Those 8 D's has been vegged for 2 months, first month from cutting in 1L at pots and second month in 18L smart pots. In this case veg could be reduced for 2-3 weeks easily only by planting rooted cuttings straight to final pot.

Great work!

Training doesn't take so long if you know what you're doing, i know many ppl Who spend ages training their babies, sometimes it take's them whole night, it's one of the things you learn with time. Last sunday i've jumped to my buddy's grow room and i've trained 2 big chemD's and 2 big bubba's for Him in less then 3 minutes:D

Ventilation there was RVK150 L1 660m2/h + 2x 6" filter on a Y piece, filters does their job perfect but extraction fan we'll soon change for acoustic 8" to make sure it will work nice when we ad 4th shade.

Thanks, and I appreciate your offer mate but i'm located on old continent. :)

@ Lep, Great info, I will try that out,
18 Litre smart pot, rooted Chem D clone straight to final pot of Coco.
Drip fed & recirc.

thanks Leptosoma!

What nutes did you use?

Hey Mack, I hope you'll benefit by switching to drip systems mate. If you have any questions i'm happy help, this why i've started this thread :)

I use canna COGr nutes, imho they much better then regular canna coco a+b line, COGr line includes "flores" and "vega", both 2-part but you don't have to play with adding less A or B to balance npk in flowering. I also use silica (3ml/uk gallon) from cutting until flush, canna boost, kool bloom powder and calmag in flowering.
