Best lighting for maximum yield in stealth dresser/wardrobe grow

I don't think I'm ready to shell out $400+ for an LED setup quite yet.

A simple diy led does not cost so much. Google "DiY LED - Cree CXA3070" You could have a fanless light for under $100. Maybe run 2 leds for wider coverage.

Fanless equivalent to around 250 watts? No exhaust fan either? I'm very in for that if I can find a DIY thread that's easy enough to follow. Looks like a completely different lighting system and vocabulary from my brief research.

Any links would be appreciated!

i was gonna suggest CMH, or the newer CDM bulbs.

the cdm bulbs come in wattages of 210 and 315.
cmh bulbs come in wattages of 250 and 400.

this site is a great resource for CMH and CDM technology
and information. a full kit for a 250w CMH would be $105
plus shipping from advanced tech. 315w cdm is $220 plus
shipping, and you would want to get the agro bulb which
would run you an extra $100.

a 250w in an air cooled reflector would require very little
(if any) additional heat exchange outside of a duct fan.
it would light 2x2 pretty easily, but remember canopy
manipulation is everything with smaller wattage lamps,
scrog and very short veg are good ideas for 250s.

Im am def gonna go with a bigger area and either the 210 are the 3** watt for sure . Sounds like the ticket for a dresser sized grow .

Lose the hood and go vert, and the fan size you use to cool a 250 or 400 can be reduced dramatically. Much easier to move the hot air out of the tent.

I can't tell you what size wouldn't compromise stealth, but with a cab that size, not running HPS would be a waste imho. Maybe a 6 inch duct booster could get you by with a 250 HPS bulb hung vert with a small fan blowing air upward.

Good luck.
