Here's a shot of my "system". It's drip to waste. Water flows into the white "dump" bucket, dump bucket has two float switches. One kicks on the drain pump an the other shuts down the feed pump should the level rise too high. Simple and very effective. (The dump bucket is not leaking, i was moving stuff around and spilled some water by it
