Micro-grow noob construction plans! *Pictures* Thoughts?

Found 2 speakers (9" x 6.5" x 5" - which is quite small as you'd imagine), popped the fronts off, got rid of the insides, took 2 sides off (doors) and glued them together and nailed the door in (more secure, less accessible, just have to take 4 screws off in order to open so 's cool  ), it now looks like this (bottom of page)! Its new dimensions are: 13" x 9" x 5". I still have not decided whether or not I wish to grow 2 SOG plants, in its portrait form or 1 beast ScrOG grow landscape. I feel that the ScrOG grow would be best in all fairness (for yield.. yield = very important to me). I will be using Pure Kush seeds btw.

Main goals of this is SUPER stealth, cost efficiency (parts wise) & yield. I'm going to add wood filler to the light leak spots, cover the insides with mylar, add an extension cable, timed plug (for light), 2 fans, 1 light and a screen. I would really like to use 250w Sunmaster HPS lights, but i'm going up my local highstreet to find some 2700k CFLs as i will only veg until it fills 50% of screen and I am going to have the screen LOW (i'll aim for around 150w - 300w), I will be using some standard multi-purpose compost in a fairly shallow but elongated pot (doesn't use up too much height). I'm not sure whether to use that 'ona-block' stuff or a carbon filter.. maybe both.

I really am hoping for a good yield of around 2 ounces every harvest.. I just don't know whether it's too difficult because of my room restrictions, but some good LST and wattage should do the trick.. right? :hide: I think my major downfalls (other than space) are nutrition, I'm not sure what NPK soil this needs? A multi-purpose compost should have a fairly neutral Ph though right? I'm worried not feeding extra nutrition with water when watering will make the plant under-achieve..

I really hope my goals are un-realistic and un-likely, especially for a beginner, I just hope i'm educated enough at this point to yield a lot. I just don't know how to make the plant bushy without FIMing or Topping, which i heard slows down the growth (which i really don't want), but I also hear FIMing doesn't slow it down too much.

I predict that i'll veg for about 2 - 3 weeks and flower for 3 - 4 weeks. Proff. Skittles is UP AND COMING LADIES AND GENTLEMAN! :dance013: What's your thoughts? I may add a diagram for where I plan on putting things, thanks for your time and sorry for repost! Many thanks & have a good day!:tiphat:

What's up, Proff?

My very first grow was built in a computer case and was somewhat similar in size as what you're working with. Since then I've had a few different micro-grow cabinets and dealt with stealth issues. I'm looking forward to seeing what this grow turns out like B-)

A few things to consider... how will this be stealth from the outside? Does it have to blend in and not raise questions if someone sees it? or can you have a carbon filter sticking out the top and electronics mounted to the outside without anyone saying "What the hell is that?"

Ventilation is extremely important when working with small spaces especially, passive intake is best IMHO (no intake fan), intake area = 2x exhaust area, keep temps under control! I've COOKED plants because of inadequate ventilation and high temps... it's better than no weed, but you don't want it if you can avoid it.

2oz out of a cabinet that size would be sweet, look at it as a long range goal though, start out with the goal of learning and getting things figured out / dialed in... after a few grows and probably many changes, you'll be getting things fine tuned so you can maximize yields.

Don't be afraid of being a little rough with your plant(s) either... as long as they're not stressed because of other things (temps, too much / too little water, nutrients, etc.), you can bend them, pinch new growth (FIMming / topping), even crush the stem and bend it back over on itself and it'll recover quickly and grow even stronger. For maximizing every square inch of that cabinet I'd do a SCRoG though though, top the plant a time or two and just fill up the screen, weaving the stalks along the screen...

Have fun with it, most of all!

Man you might wanna do some research . I am am no expert but that amount of light is way over kill to the point of light toxicity not to mention going to kill the plants in short order with heat .will a 250 bulb even fit in there and if it does are you gonna be able to grow something in a those mere inches of clearance ? Everything about this is off except maybe the cfl usage idea .two ounces in that space I haven't ever seen done and I have been through every thread in this sub forum as of today. The 250 watt is something you might use for 4 something sq foot which is much larger then what ya got.you could still possibly do something but only you can figure this out .maybe try for a bigger space to hit your yield in mind?make sure to check out more threads here and to make it easy just pick threads that have high post counts or high rating s and you will likely see the completed grows of others .good luck!
