The only thing I know about the Death Star is that, I gave some SSxWW cuts to a grower in Columbus back in the early 2000s, and was told a year or two ago that my SSxWW was in Death Star somehow, I can't prove it yet, but Ill be meeting with a Columbus grower that i haven't seen in 6-7 years and ill see what he has to say about it, it would be funny if it was true???.

Been growing this gal faithfully for about 7 years in Colorado myself. Love it like so many do. Also made a cross with her as the male and Orgnkid Banana as momma I call Donkey Kong.

after a few good years of Dstar growing, IV really gotten her down. she only shows her TRUE nature in OG soil w OG nutes, teas, light ammendments. Also, I just did my first run with a solar storm 800w LED w the UVB lamps built in, 9 Dstars on a 4x4 tray in 7x7x7 white square pots ( I know, goes against my smart pot boner) being hand watered...I must say this is by far the best Dstar run I have ever had. smell, trich production, purples coming out like never before, faaaat HEAVY buds. this LED plus all organic, is the best bet for the real ohio star cut in my mind. hopefully a pic or 2 soon, still got another weekish to go, maybe 5 days. smell is pepperoni pizza, rotting skunk with gasoline poured over it. but before a crack open, shes got a nice bouquet of flower floral smell, but the jar just smells like a rotting carcas' balls, WITH the sweaty underwear still on...

Iv found too, that there can be a fair amount of leaf covering the bud, even after harvesting...Iv noticed, the LEAF trichs, even the ones you may mistake for actual FLOWER, go amber ATLEAST 2 weeks earlier than the actual trichs on the flowers themselves. just a little snapple Dstar fact. anyone notice this? makes me wonder if I wanna go more toward 74 or 78 as far as the chop. I just scoped her out, Im about dat 70-71, lots of amber on the surrounding leaves, and im talkin the ones even too small to chop, but the calyxs are maybe only showing 1 out of 40 maybe are amber...still a FEW clear.

heres those pics from what I wrote above, next time the only thing Ill do different, is use 2-3 gal smart pots instead of these 7x7x9" white pots...dont asked me what possessed me to take them outta my shop, but I did haha...day 70 ish? tell me what yall think, go back a few pages and see how Iv really dialed her in, Ill never let her go, still my #1 for potency and even yield when done right. Iv pulled almost half P plants under 1k lights in 5 gal smart pots, happy frog soil, and AN/my own OG tea mixes. KNEE HIGH, well maybe MID THIGH and thats a long shot, 6-7 ounce shrubs in 5 gal smart pots no prob. I mean look what I did in a 7 inch plastic pot lol. few handfuls of soil grew 9 of these. the 800w solar storm LED is REEEALLLLLLLY packing on the WEIGHT, my god, I think I'll be pleasantly surpised w the yield. some of those tops are 4 fingers wide! and I got big hands. Organics for this girl...organics. and now LEDs are really floating my boat. I almost WANNA...cant say YET, but I WANNA say my yield under an 800w LED thats drawing like 620 something actual watts, probly less, WILL most likely beat what half of these guys pull under a 1K HID.

also, I wanna chat w some of my fellow DS lovers about how they yield in OG soil, keeping the feeding and soil both as OG and alive as possible.

also, Im using 7x7x9" pots, I swear they seem like no more than a gallon and a half? can someone help me covert this?? this is the specs from the manufacturers website.

**What is the capacity of my pots? because Im scared to see what I yield out of these things. really helps that Im hear to FULLY water them every other day at least. certainly nice and rooted up! (smart pots woulda been better!)**

So this is the 9 DS plants, in the small white pots, sitting on a 4x4 tray, but getting hand watered. check out how far I keep the light! that fucker is a good 2 feet away from the canopy, just to get the spread/footprint. so I have the fattest, heaviest Dstar flowers to date using this LED...and I didnt ass it in until week 2 either, wish I had it for the first 2 weeks aswell. funny little story about that solar storm...when the 1k halide is on, on the other side of the tent along with the LED, it looks like ur getting a perfect 4x4 footprint at that height...but the funny thing is, is one day my timers got knocked a few min outta sync w eachother...well the 800w LED comes on first, I SWEAR, at that height, which is almost 5.5-6 ft FROM the GROUND, not the tray lol...that LED light was shining USABLE light 2/3rds across the whole tent! I may even be able to get a pic for you boys, but the whole point of my nonsense is that these cali light works solar storms, are better than a 1k sodium. They advertise 4x4 coverage, I agree, but if your growing shorties like my 9 here (2.5 ft MAX, including 9" tall pot), you could probably pull off a 6x6. CLW now makes a Solar storm 880, Im using the original 800.

Iv been working in this industry for quite a few years now, retail...we've sold 4 880s in our brand new shop, only been open for a matter of weeks, already, and Im not in an area where hydro shops are on every block, or every city.

LONG story short...these LEDs, THESE PARTICULAR ones WORK guys, they fuckin WORK. Iv been an indoor grower for bout 11-12 yrs now, and Im floored, hopefully the yield will impress me even more! I will shit...

I do wanna try KIND brand LEDs...gonna have to try and get a demo usit before we stock them, but it didnt take long to twist our arm on Solar Storm, thats for sure. I also want to grow DS under Induction, and my buddy (hes a rep for one of the bigger nute companies) was givin me some CRAZY feedback on these new double ended 1000w bulbs? Iv been seeing them advertised, I thoight it was a gimmick...he was tellin me its like having a 1500w, no loli popping he says.

god damn guys, this is what happens when you havnt posted on IC in over a year! sorry!

heres a few more pics, keep in mind I got another 5 days of pumping them hard w watter during flush, so theyll be bigger next week when they get axed!!

DS is one of my favorite strains I currently have. Just got it tested at 20% thc as well. I really enjoy the cut through high, and that sour funky flavor! I'll get some photo's up of my D. Star soon. SL

I'll have to get some pics up tomorrow. I have always had several of theses in flower at any given time. Had the cut for many years. Love the smoke. Not so much the 10 wks of flower she prefers but still a keeper IMO

About a month from seed. Leaning in for some 600mh love. Have a pack of beans so I will veg til clones then flower.

Oasis medical seeds has some real fire. Hoping to find a nice pheno that reps both parents well. This may take awhile....

awesome seeing the dialed in plants here!!! I wasn't aware of the Mi award but she deserves it. Personally I haven't been able to grow the last yr and half but she (same cut posted by cannabis patient a few pages back) iis still kicking in 2 buddies gardens. I'm legit again so can't wait to see how she does again.

All time favorite smoke for both flavor/smell and medical qualities. Pretty relaxing in smaller 2 hit doses (I'm a lightweight and proud of it ��) more narcotic at higher levels. More than one has used this to get over opiate sickness. Just worth mentioning that it and strawberry D are the most requested locally. Strawberry is a bit more sativa like. We have bxs of it but the original just was lost. It didn't produce that well being a more sativa expression but meds were top notch. Hopefully the bxs are as nice. Both these are more liked than the ecsd which isn't here anymore either.

love the organic pics especially. Kudos. I also have a little experience with a darkstar900w led. It thickened up the buds on everything that was grown under it. I also did a hybrid hps and led grow. Sweet! I'm on (or was and will again) the air bag train as well. Amazing results in 3-5-7 g pots. Lol this was a long read and glad it became more civil. Just brushing up before I try and run it again. As long as we avoid a total disaster D* will always have a place in our medical gardens. Thinking hard on what type of bxs we could pull off for seeds.

I wish it would have worked out, but it didn't. Someone a couple years back had the pre95 sensi star and wanted to trade for D*. Would have done it but things happen. There was a pretty bad example of her at a dispensary lately. Didn't smoke any but I here the smell wasn't there and it was poorly grown, trimmed and flushed. This was their "top shelf" selection. Uggh.
