Anyone watching the finals?
I love this picture of Manu Ginóbili of the Spurs.
He is using the defender's head as a platform to launch himself higher. Nothing is going to stop him from scoring here. I call it "The Claw":

Nobody likes basketball here? Spurs are killing it. They have guys from France, Argentina, Australia.....all over the place.

I call that an offensive foul.
Spurs are schooling the heat with their passing and cutting and driving. just making them look ineffective. duncan said they'd win, and they're almost there.
for the heat to come back, theyd have to get plays from their pg position, wade, bosh. Not impossible, they're a championship team, a prideful team, so i expect theyll play better. The defense? theyre not figuring out the spurs passing lanes. at the rate theyre going, id almost say they should give up on the dribble penetration rather than bend the defense to stop it and leaving wide open 3 point shooters. but what do i know.
maybe spoelstra should go small, surround lebron with 4 shooters and hope they outscore the spurs and maybe get some turnover's if they can get their hands on some passes.
but this series is probably over, down 3-1 in the series, it's less than a 5% chance they'll come back, and it's never been done in the championship round.

If the Heat played in Western conference, they might not have made the playoffs. I've been betting on the Spurs all season, and especially in the playoffs. They are a lock. Easily the best team in the league, and the best coach.

Ginobili plays like a clown in my opinion. Glad the spurs are winning the series though.

You wish you could be so "clownlike". I don't know why you say that, but Manu is one of the fiercest competitors out there. Ice in his veins, cold blooded, never gets rattled. Hall of Fame for sure. He's one of the things that's so nice about the Spurs. They have players from all over the world: Australia, France (2 guys from France), Argentina, Italy, Virgin Islands, Brazil, who all play smart, because they have the smartest coach in basketball, no prima donnas, and no one "superstar" who has to carry the team. They play the game the way it should be played:pass first. You can have a punk rapist like Kobe. I'll take Manu & friends any day of the week. They are the real deal. They play for one another. No ego allowed.
And that's why they have been so good for so long.

kobe was never convicted of anything.
heat would have made the playoffs in the western conference. probably not the #1 seed, but they would have made it.
manu's a bit of a flopper, but had to take his own medicine on that ghost foul that Wade did an oscar-worthy acting job on. that was game 2?
manu's the x factor on that team, can make plays with the ball, off the ball, is a good defender and rebounder. really fills those areas that duncan and parker arent as good at, which is why that 'big 3' works better than miami's 'big 3'. At least this year.

"Probably" not the #1 seed? Funny. They were barely over 500 on the road in the weak Eastern Conference. They would have finished somewhere between 5 & 8 in the west.

Is kobe a rapist? Eh, he's a self-admitted dick. She got paid to not testify. You could draw either conclusion from that.

Manu went nuts there for a few plays and became 91 Jordan.
Patty Mills went off and even schooled Bron on a couple plays. What can you say, they're a real team, even when parker had a bad game other guys, role players, stepped up.
Kawhi leonard made them a big 4 with his play. He's Pippen-like in his defense and rebounding, and his confident offense was a real boost.
Makes you almost wonder how they lost last year. Leonard was a year younger, Parker tweaked his hammy in game 3, wade was much more effective back then. Still, this was a beatdown, payback for 2013. Congrats to the spurs, a model franchise if there was one. San Antonio has a team and organization that Knicks fans can only dream of. Smallest market in the league, and they dominate all the bigger boys with their free agent superstars.

Spurs play ball the way it should be played by every team. Passing, balanced scoring, no "one on one superstars", just team work, and the smartest coach in basketball. Kawhi got MVP, but Ginobli was a close second. He was fierce last night. That posterizing dunk was awesome. While all these other teams are trying to acquire "superstars", the Spurs take players from all over the world and blend them into a team. Well done.

Parker's a one on one superstar; with his hesitation moves, he can get into the paint against anyone.
surprised how much better ginobli played this year after looking done last year. just one of those things i guess. offense was a lot crisper this year, and the heat were worse defensively.

Is that supposed to be Thor?

Tony Parker=best point guard in the league, but he had one of his worst games in the final. He was o for 8 or 9 in the first half. He did better late when the game was already over. But that's the beauty of the Spurs. All 13 guys play and contribute. If one guy goes down, the next one steps right up.

I think this was the first year in a while that Ginobli didn't play with the Argentine national team. But whatever the reason he was fresher than last year. Leonard is going to be fun to watch.
