Banana OG??

Is anyone out there growing a banana og or any other strain that has a full on banana smell? I have the banana og that can be found all over CO but it does not really smell like banana to me. It's more of a generic over ripe fruit/candy smell. The frost on this cut is nuts and I keep her around for hash making. Anyone come across something with pure banana funk?

There are 2 strains in Colorado that I know of that are a "banana". One is very common and a somewhat average strain. The other is done by someone near Denver and this one is not passed around. Very strong and heavy smoke, smells exactly like banana bread. It's indistinguishable. That's probably the one most people are looking for. There's pictures of it in one of the other threads somewhere around here...

Oops...I have poor copy and paste skills. My post sounds a little confusing. The first strain is indistinguishable from most of what we consider to be bland strains. What I mean is that often a strain is called by a fruit because it is suppose to mimic that fruits flavor or smell, but more often than not the strain is simply sweet smelling and we convince ourselves that it smells like that fruit. The latter strain I referred to is a stand out in the realm of banana smell and taste. Sorry if all that sounded confusing!!!

Not sure why this thread was resurrected, but awesome. Yeah mr.gb I don't think we have the same cut at all. The pic in the first post was given to me as Banana OG. The only thing going for it was very heavy tric coverage. Had a generic fruit/candy smell and a bland high. I think this is the one Poudre Farms was talking about. I made a few crosses with this one and then let it go.

This one was given to me as Banana Kush x unknown. The banana smell and taste on this one is strong as is the smoke. It looks a little more like what GB and IC are working with. I doubt its the same but whatever. Its good smoke so that's all that matters to me. Good to see others killin it with the banana!
