2x600W Summergrow & Heatproblem

So at first let me introduce myself, experienced grower since 15 years, indoor (soil & hydro) and outdoor (greenhouse & woods)... had a break of growing for a few years, but I`m back in business since 3 years now, only indoors and only on soil (soil-coco-perlite-mixes).

Setup:

Room: 2,0m x 1,8m x 2,0m
Light:
veg: 4x36 W LSR, Philips 400W HPI-T +, Osram Plantastar 600W
gen: 2 x 600W Philips SON-T PIA +, 2x AaW Medium with electr. Ballast
Lightrail !
Ventilation / Climate:
1x 650m³/h UFO + active carbon 600m³/h
1x 420m³/h UFO + active carbon 400m³/h
2x fans 40cm diameter,
1x Honeywell floorfan
Soilmix: 50% Soil (Canna Terra) 25% Perlite (2/6) 25% Coco
Pots: 12l SmartPots with a 3cm Drainagelayer of Hydrokorrels at the bottom
Plants (all from seeds):
5x Super Skunk (sensi seeds)
5x AK-48 (Nirvana)
3x Blue Hash (Dinafem)
3x OG Kush (Dinafem)
2x Critical Jack (Dinafem)

All seedlings showed up at the 14.04 - 16.04 in soil under 4x36W 20/4h

On the 26.04 they were set in the final 12l SmartPot with about 3cm Hydrokorrel Drainagelayer at the bottom of each SmartPot, and went under the 400W HPI-T+

little update to the circumstances:

Hesi is used, the currently max EC of nutrients given to the water (EC 0,2mS) is about 1,0mS
Temeratures are damn hot right now, night temps in my room (night is day and day is night...) are about 21-24C, daytime up to 31C!!! Ventilation is on full power.

Yeah, I thought about an A/C... but on the other hand, we have some unusual tropical nights right now with about 22-25 degree... temps will go down again in a few days the forecast told.. as long as the heat last, the 2 600W are getting dimmed down to 450W

it works... it`s only a peak at 28C right now, and that`s because daytime for the girls starts at 8pm and there`s still warm air around to 11pm... after that point temps going down to 25C... and the nights are getting cooler again the next days...
Right now I can`t see any problems at the girls due to the heat of the last days. The only thing is they drink a lot and also need a lot of nutrients.
Watered yesterday to drain (I do about every 10 days), and the drain said: EC 1,4 mS / pH 6,5 - so everything`s alright, but the nutes could be more (N & P)

This is the first time for me working with smart pots, and I never saw my girls growing that compact! Stretch... what is stretch!?!

for a better cooling the girls now stand on stairs so I can take the cooler air under the pots for cooling the root pouches by oscil. fans.
And... the girls have some more space

Temps max: 28,9 C
Temps min: 21,0 C
Humidity: 55 - 70%

Temps going down again now, dimming down to 2x 450W helped not to stay over 30C max. So in about 2 days it`s 2x 600W again.

Hey earlbuddy it sounds like your off to a good start.. your pics aren't showing tho.. might be related to your low post count?.. I use 600w dimmable lumateks and they have served me well through the hottest days ;) ..anyways good luck with your grow ill b dropping in!

...I don`t know, why you guys can`t see the pics I posted..? Any idea or advice?

The heat is not gone yet, but not that brutal anymore. I think, that also the Smart Pots are doing their job against heatproblems (at the roots) very, very good!
The only thing is, I have to water a lot, about 1,2 liters the girls drink in only 2 days.
And they eat a lot, too! I had to change from the rhythm: water, water, nutes; to: water, nutes, nutes!
I use the Hesi-Soil nutrients even there`s only 50% of soil in the smart pots.
The pure water comes with EC 0,2mS pH 7,3 - Nutes I give right now about EC 1,0-1,2mS (= 1,2 - 1,4mS) and regulate the pH (done by the Hesi-nutes itself) down to 6,4 - 6,6


The AK-48 are the plants that drink the most and also need the most nutes - but when I look to them, it`s really logical. These genetics grew more biomass than any other plant. Very early they began to build strong branches, and grow bigger and bigger, but not by stretching! Extremly compact, a bush! No... 5 bushes!

Also the 3 OG Kush girls are still very uniform - day 21 of flower - the 2 Critical Jacks are also very uniform, same as the 3 Blue Hash. First time I grew some Dinafem genetics - oh no, I had 1 Moby Dick at the last grow, very nice one!!

The Super Skunk`s, I have maybe the 3rd time at all, are, compared to my other grows, also very uniform, but when I compare to the other strains are grown right now, I have to say that the SSK shows the most different phenos.

IF I am not mistaken, there is an adjustment that the OP needs to make changing his photos from private to public before they will show to others who he has not "friended". That is just my understanding, and I may well be mistaken.

Hey there bro. I personally feel a a/c is all but a need for a perfect climate. I can get a nice portable a/c of Craigslist around my area for about $150. The portables set on floor an have a tube that vents out. They are the bomb. You'll love it if u get one an so will your babies. Hope this helps

Most, not all, portables are way inefficient. Many people have to replace them because they exhaust smell. Good luck. -granger
