question about quailty bud.

Whenever I get an ounce of mids, it fills my jar up a shit load, but I just snagged an ounce of some AAA and it barely filled it lol.

I weighted it out and it was on mark tho, the buds are very dense.

Why is that?

Varies from strain to strain (some strains are just more dense), moisture content, dry/cure method, storage method, etc. Too many variables to give a simple, single answer.

Thicker tissues, closer nodal spacing within the bud etc.... variety is the spice of life.

Higher intensity lighting produces denser flowers...in general.

Even outside of genetic factors - any plant growing under a 1k will be denser than a plant grown under a 400w.

A plant grown in full sun will be denser than a plant that gets shaded...

Not necessarily true.

you can have a malawi growing outdoors next to a uzbeki broad leaf, and the uzbeki will have much denser buds. etc...

Well your talking mid grade to high grade. People demand more money for the higher grade mj not only for the potency and type of high/stone but the extra care that was given to grow and cure the plant properly. If you take the time to cure properly, you will have less moisture and weight. A lot of dealers just want the $$$ rather then a proper cure. To me it,s kind of like cooking, why Mom's food was always the best. She would always put the love into it.

bud density doesn't guarantee quality....some strains just don't get dense....I have had lots of fluffy kickass sativas over the years..bag appeal don't fool anyone but newbies...smoke that shit then pass judgement
