^mine always would. last year at another farm they would get into dudes greenhouse and wreak havoc on his starts. and ya they will get on your pots mounds whatever and scratch endlessy. if it weren't for that and my dog being a convicted chicken mass murderer I would have them all over the back yard. few things are more calming than sitting on the porch watching chickens be chickens I love em.

FE, I hold off on spinosad for the final nuke when all else fails. There are many other things I put in rotation but I fear quickly building resistance in pests by using spinosad regularly in rotation. In my mind it's as dangerous as using the strongest antibiotic for regular upkeep.

My chickens don't go anywhere near the plants. Tomato plants on the other hand, get picked on.
When I made the chicken comments I was picturing smart pots with mesh to the ground around the plants. Pono is right, chickens would wreck havoc if allowed.
I was always taught water wasn't able to hold onto dissolved o2 at adequate rates when the temps are over 80 degrees F. I lived in the bay in the past and temps never got over 80 so I didn't have to worry. Your saying you have tested your oxygen rates when your temps are up and they are adequate? May I ask what you tested with? I only ask because I am curious, not because I doubt you,

I have a 55 gal brewer that I already have built from my last place. I was thinking of burying it in the earth to help keep the temps down. I figure 56 degree earth plus hot air from the pumps should equal out somewhere around 75.

I measured it with DO2 meter. a brewer buried in the ground sounds like it might be a great idea minus it might be hard to clean. we use drip line that have built in emitters that emit 1/2 gallon per hour with emitters every 9 inches.
we have both chickens and guineas here and yes they will destroy little plants and i won't let themin the gh or near the plants yet but once they have stalks that are an inch and a half or two around i figure the chickens and guineas won't do much harm.

For mulch, I picked up some "gorilla haired" cedar mulch and put that around the perimeter of my buried smart pots. I also threw down some weed guard over the whole planting area and cut out holes for the smart pots so they fit in nice and snug.
For the base around the main stem I'm not sure what to do. I've seen people mention lava rock as mulch and I got to thinking.
I have a bag of clay pebbles and I was thinking I would cut out some 2-3" tall pieces of 5" pvc pipe and have that act as a collar at the base of the stem to keep the gorilla hair cedar mulch away from the base of the main stem. Maybe I could throw a short layer of some clay pebbles in there to keep it moist but not wet.
Still have to get my drip system set up. I'm way behind, but at least I got the plants in the ground and my dog proof fence up.

You really shouldn't be concerned with antibiotics if you're growing the Sacred Herb.
You should be figuring out how you can grow 100% organic. Sorry dudes.

I have only found cal25 and ppd online. I've never messed with the AEA stuff. PPD is so stank but, they like it.
You should spend that money and time on setting up a drip system and dialing in your farm.
Stuff like CA25, PPD, and advancing eco ag's products are good when the soil is dialed the plants are dialed and you're looking to push them to the next level.
To answer your question, AEA sells direct and you can get PPD and Cal 25 from AGMart in Chico.

I'm done with spindly ass plants. Ripped out a girl today after I bumped a branch with my sprayer nozzle and it snapped off at the stem. If it can't survive in veg mode how the hell is it supposed to survive with buds on it?
No secrets here, in fact kemp himself says that the AEA line will help carry a crop with mineral deficient soil thru to harvest. The foliars can help patch a deficiency in a pinch to buy time while you amend the soil. Thats one use for them. They can be used to push things up a notch as well. That is once your soil is balanced and you want to see how far you can take it. Either way here are some sources for some really great products.
