Need advice for applying floramite

Hi everyone,

First off I'll just give you a little background. I have been growing in my spot for the past year, and have battled spider mites from the second round forward. They have never been anything that a little (organic) care and attention couldn't handle. The last harvest that I had was almost ruined though. About 5 weeks into flowering we got a heat wave, and the spider mite population just took off. I was able to finish off the grow without losing too much, and decided to bomb the tent with pyrethrins before I put the new round in. The new round is 1 week into flowering, and they are already infested. This is my last grow in the spot, and I am on a time frame, and I need this round to happen, so unfortunately I bought some floramite and avid, and I am going to apply the floramite today. I was wondering if anyone had any pointers for it. I noticed that it is very toxic, so do i need a gas mask to apply it? or will a dust mask do? also, when I spray the plants should i spray them like I would with any other pesticide? that is, under the leaves as well as on top of the leaves? any pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks!

My advice would be to go the Cannabis Infirmary and read the spider mite stickies. There are many ways to skin a cat successfully, and many that don't expose you to toxins when applying and later when smoking. My advice is to not use Floramite, especially in bloom unless you don't mind smoking it and passing contaminated weed to others. Good luck. -granger

I only use it in veg. Preventative style. People talk bad about fluromite but it's gone in 28 days. I tried mighty wash azatrol neem oil azamax lady bugs and the only thing that worked for more t than 2 weeks is fluromite. I haven't had a mite problem in over a year. If u grow in a room with carpet your doomed. They eggs can remain viable for long time and u won't get them out of the carpet. yes you spray bottom of the leaves.to get rid of them crank the heat up for a couple days and the room with 5000 ppms of Co2 but stay out of the room the Co2 will kill u to at that level
