anyone have any cool ideas.. to keep everything out of the solution.. especially because when doing this outdoors.. plant debri and pollen can just fall right in..

is there a safe type of plasic i can put my shit in. so that it can still purge safely outdoors but not get anything into my solution?

or does anyone have a cool setup they made to prevent that?

really appreciate the info.. i got some weed particles in my bho.. just grabbed another bottle to winterize.. and filter the crap out.

I would say use a piece of cheesecloth over the cake pan. It will stop anything from getting in and the butane will still evaporate thru it. I would leave the piece you use to cover the pan outside for awhile after just in case.......... but hey it might not work. The cheesecloth may become too saturated and prevent proper purging. Make sure it's good and taught on the cakepan, maybe some duct tape? Just trying to help here.

dont get me wrong.. its not a ton of particles.. and i could spend 10-15 mins picking out the lil debri.. but.. im loooking for a way to cover it while purging outdoors..

it might even be debri coming from my vac chamber.. from opening and closing it to flip it and shit.

is using a silk screen and butane a bad idea? . i was thinking of grabbing a piece of mesh screen that ud normally use to make dry sift.. .and put it over my pyrex.. and just blow my shit right onto the top of it.. allowing the butane to go threw.. and keeping any debri out?..

i obv dont wana do it if im goin to leach anything into my product..

would a food tent work? i wouldnt spray threw it.. but i could make a hole in it .leaving it as a flap.. use some velcro to put the hole back together after spraying.. and allow to evap ?

Just put a lid on it, the butane will find it's way out, keeps debris and moisture out. I don't apply heat to my evaporating dish until the extraction's done and the lid's on.

i figured.. the lids that came with my pyrex are some sort of a plasticy/rubbery shit.. i figured putting a lid on it. would allow the butane to break down the lid? im talkin about the initial purging of the liquid left in the pyrex.. thats the only time ive had problems is the initial purge.. outdoors.. pollen.. and helicopter seeds lol the food tent worked great for this round.. not a single spec in my run

I wouldn't worry about using plastic for a lid as long as liquid butane isn't coming into contact with it. If your referring to a lid meant to actually create an airtight seal, just set in on top without sealing it. A sheet of glass or plastic set on top of your evaporating dish is all you need, a kitchen cutting board would even work, unless you're dealing with wind/dust you don't need the seal of an actual lid.

I get gnat sized bugs buzzing my exposed boiling butane, I think they're getting off on the butane vapors... ;-)

I use silkscreens in a wood frame and just let it sit on top of the Pyrex.
I use the same exact thing.

Unless I have the matching lid to the dish, and I'll use that.

Lidding the dish also keeps the Super-chilled solution from pulling moisture from the atmosphere.

As SkyHighLer says, just make sure the lid is NOT completely air-tight.

good shit.. well anyways thought id let you guys know.. lol. the stuff that i got a few things in. i pulled the shit out.. and got rid of it . and then there was a lil bit of weed from a lil error when i pulled the can off and some plant matter flew out the hole into the dish.. well went and grabed some 95% grain alcohol.. everclear.. to be exact.. just dissolved it into the everclear.. will strain.. and evap..

does winterizing create a harder product? or can i expect it to be the same as what goes in? i figure because the monoterpenes will be gone.. and the waxes that it should be harder/ more stable.. ?

whats a way to get this stuff be to more rock hard with summer temps. id really like to make a product thats harder.. and ive vacced for like 3 days straight 72 hours.. got it looking amazing but this nug run turned out taffy like.. but i find allot of my nug runs end up taffy snap an pull type.. but they smell an taste soo good.

.. just trying to figure out how to make full purged wax.. and honeycomb?.. any tips?
