I honestly think the Feds tolerance to the mere existence of the proliferation of places like harbor side is more of a blow to the weed economy as it was than broad mites could ever do. People are scrambling to figure out what to do now that a few lights in a closet is not sufficient to pay a mortgage. Times are a changing. who would have thought that biggest the weapon against the number of people growing weed for profit would have just been the legalization and seizure of the market into the hands of the rich business invester class. Bms got nothing on legalization when it comes to the government decreasing the ammount of people able to profit tax free from mj

I never said DEA is responsible for duds, I am with the virus/root problem camp.

Way cheaper to covertly infect growers than pass new laws and regulate a new industry...

I agree with you on the pathogen theory. The rest I find a bit hard to see the point. Why wouldn't you just consider that these and other pests are just an inevitability of a burgeoning green house trade vulnerable to any pest that can find a niche and that there are new ones that are going to pop up all the time regardless of a conspiracy or nefarious plotting.

Um, the Feds are trying to tax harborside out of business... You call that tolerance? You can bet they're trying to figure out a way to take down Colorado and Washington. Their obstacle is that they would have to prosecute state officials that sign licenses for conspiracy to manufacture. You know they don't want to look bad putting a bunch of government workers in prison for doing their job. But that is what would have to happen for them to prosecute licensed shops that are operating under state laws there. The people calling the shots on who gets to grow are elected and appointed officials paid by the state. The Feds don't want to face someone in court with the same legal resources as them...

this thread has so many good examples on many layers of why you should never get high on your own supply. yall are trippin out on this. the feds didnt give you fungus gnats or bms the international agricultural supply chain did, and that weed yall are smoking must not be duds. seriously.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled program.... The pre '14 GG#4 v.s. The herpied out ones that sunset apparently gave out at his booth. Anyone have issues with the clones that were at the source genetics booth? I saw that tray and they all looked great.

about the "pre 14" idea...
you see smoketrees' post 05/16 in the glue thread?
It took me a solid 6+ months to get my GG out of its dud state, and I got the cut long long long before the cup, but from SL.

some food for thought....

Exactly, what I said was tongue in cheek. Kind of hard for you to see that from that rock in the middle of the ocean though! People are so silly. Shrugging off the Feds ruining crops and accusing legit growers of passing duds. Which one is more likely and advantageous for the party involved? Silly growers, the government hates us.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention guys....I missed that post. Feel free to post em up here or pm me if you find any such gg4 dud related posts.

We may just have a winner here.

the thing that "worries" me with plants that have "grown out of it and are perfectly healthy now", is , are they really???

I guess the only way to tell is to have plant material tested.

i haven't seen much discussion about WHERE to get materials tested... wassup with that, people?

Im working with another local member to get some of my "duds" tested, no promises though.

TBH not sure that many folks around here want to test cannabis, and the ones that do most likely dont have the means to test for fusarium unfortunately.

I am looking to get some leaf testing done on seeds to sex them also, Im on the hunt for a good lab either way. If anyone in knows of a reputable lab to due some dud testing in Or let me know. Maybe Ill ask gw

there are places that are friendly to test for pathogens in med states. genetic testing for sex i have heard of but i dont know where to get it done. itll be soon enough that you just look for ads in the back of your local weekly.

im guessing this was back when they still had money to fly helicopters over every property in norcal and put boots on the ground for 50 gorilla plants. how did you know it was botrytis? could of just been a really serious cropper spreading actinavate for pm.

but in all seriousness i think we are in a new era. not of tolerance but strategy. i dont think they are above these tactics as we saw in central america in the eighties, i just think theyve switched modes and i think they are trying to figure out how to get in the money at this point more than stop it with experimental biolgical controls. i think theyve figured out that asset seizure is worth more than crop sabotage. hence the dwindling efforts of c.a.m.p. and the fewer and fewer small grows you see getting raided in cali by feds. they seem to want to let bigger folks operate and then close in on the money when they bust. i doubt they are spending money on high collateral damage missions like spreading broadspectrum devastating pests in the heart of agricultural america. not much reward in the end with the potential for a massively bad day in front of the cameras if it got leaked. i think bms are simply a consequence of global agriculture and ornamental horticulture that are just making the inevitable rounds. i also think the government is evil and cunning. the cunning part is what makes me doubt this particular conspiracy.
