I did it a long time ago in basic training, early 80s. Several times across a decent sized stream. It was a lot of fun and something I'd enjoy doing again. I've also jumped a few times. Obviously that's more of a rush.

Hope you enjoy it, good luck!

back in the 60s/70s my friends dad set one up in the back yard, it was a huge yard and the line was 200' long w/a good enough grade to pick up some real speed, the dad was a motor head (owned a shop in The Bronx), we went to the Danbury stock car races all the time with them, Mr N had a need for speed that he passed onto 2 out 3 of his boys.

anyway, a shock absorbing long spring on the cable @ the end and a sandpit kept us from landing in the hospital, if you held on 'til the very end that spring would tear the grips right outta your hands & launch that trolley back up the line. when little kids were there to visit Mr N would set up a swing seat on it, the spring was gentle enough given the kids light weight.

When I was a kid a neighbors Dad built one in the woods,

We had to adjust it a little because if you wern't perfectly on line you would bang into a tree that was in the way lol.

Great fun and easy to make.

Did it in the rainforest north of Cairns in oz a few years back. You do 4 ziplines along the forest canopy over different heights and ecosystems. Great way to view the rainforest and guides were pretty knowledgeable so that was good. The longest one was 78m so about 235 feet.

It;ll be a bit of a damp squid after skydiving to be honest, unless you got some maniac friends and decide to build ye're own ridiculous one, if so, give me a holler i'd like to try that shit!!
