Sweet Skunk peak seeds

T

TREE KING

They both have similar growth rates and both are potent but are totally opposite ends of the spectrum as far as end product which is a great thing imo. That room will smell incredible

now i know you know what your talking about lol the veg growth speed on both are identical there both the same size in my mother room but the iss have a littte more space between nodes. I'm guessing the iss will stretch for longer though so the'l end up a bit bigger in flower. we'll see

The chem 4 i ran early 2013 had a big body with more pine cone-ish flowers and the iss has long, loose spears. The iss will probably stretch more than the chem but shouldnt be too uneven in canopy

sorry if this is off subject but whats your opinion on how the chem 4 yields, is it overrated or no? I've never grew it before. the goal is to get an oz per plant with 36 plants in a 4 x 4 hydro ebb n flow with no veg

I did extremely well with my chem 4. Mine did 5-6 zips each in a cramped space. I only ran it once though. It came out solid unlike the chem ds ive down prior. Hard to say if you would hit one per with no veg but im sure you could

So I'm going to try and bring this thread back to topic. Peak seeds Sweet Skunk isn't the same thing as ISS from what I understand, but it is related to it. I've heard it's just a sweet-leaning, non-skunky Skunk #1 line that Peak has been working since the Sensi days, and then I've also seen a post by peakseeds that said "We changed the name of our Skunk to Sweet Skunk to be more accurate. The original female was an Island Sweet Skunk." I'm still looking through various forums for more posts, but I'm guessing it's possible it was originally a Sk#1 x ISS?

Anyhow, I just received some of these seeds, from Peak, and I'm curious if anyone has grown it recently and has anything they would like to add to this thread? I don't know what to expect. I understand it grows tall. I'm hoping that means it will take well to some LST. But there doesn't seem to be too many forums talking about this one, for some reason, or it gets lost in the ISS talk.

I already germinated them, so I'll know all about them soon enough... I just thought I'd check to see if anyone wants to share some experience with this strain?

id like to know about this strain to I'm thinkin maybe its a island sweet skunk backcross? not really sure. all i know is the iss from next generation is way more indica than i thought it was gonna be. i knew it was more indica than federations but i didn't think it was gonna be like this. the chem 4 is even stretching way more its crazy. its not looking like the plants are gonna create one main cola also. i wish federation was still in business so i can buy it from them. they look like yielders though thats for sure. who knows maybe peak seeds is an option

This is from Peak's, "Flowering period**: 8-9 weeks indoor
Potency: Very strong
Growth Pattern: Grows fast, tall and branchy. Flower early (2weeks after germinating) for manageable height and one large main bud. Feed generously.
Breeders comment: Awesome sativa, huge sugary buds, stimulating, great for activities, good day-time smoke, high as opposed to stone. Excellent for breeding. Height can be a problem.

Peak's isn't kidding when they say to flower early, unless you have 12' ceilings do as Peak suggests; I forgot to flower early and they went over 5 feet. You're already into it over a month so you know by now that you should have flowered as Peaks suggests.

I just found this thread doing a Google search, so I thought it would be nice to bump it up again. I'm currently in the middle of harvesting my Sweet Skunks right now, and I can say that only a certain phenotype gets tall. There are a handful of visible phenotypes, but only one appears to get tall. I only vegged mine for about 11 days, and this one pheno grew to be about 4 feet tall, with no topping or anything, single stalk style.

If anyone wants to see my SS grow, here's the link:

I'm reading up on anything ISS 'cause I'm gonna get some SS and a few other Peak selections this coming week.
On reviewing my notes from a brief conversation with MJ. He aquired a skunk strain around 2002 from BCSC. He used the strongest male to begin inbreeding with. He specifically said inbreeding, so because the mom is ISS, I'm lead to believe his creation of SS was a process...

I emailed Peak with a question about their stuff and received a friendly and helpful response .... maybe they would shed more light on the ISS question as well.

I did ask Mj about the origins of his Skunk line a couple of years ago.I was told, that was ISS ( BCSC) X Skunk#1 of a very famous European Seedbank ( IMO probably Sensi Seeds ).

I don´t remember wich one was the male/female but that was the answer he gave me

Hi everyone this is my first post here, I'm 6 weeks into flower today with Sweet Skunk from peak seeds. There's 40 of them scrogged on a 3'x6' table under 2 600 watt hps. Her stalks are pretty tall with alot of buds but I really need to fatten them up!! I'm running Technalflora's recipe for success at about 40% of what it calls for, probably could've used a little less, their pretty dark and notice a little burning at the very tip, i've brought my ppm down to 870 with 6.0 ph. What im wondering is what can I do to try to get some more weight out of them? I have some MOAB I am wanting to use but am afriad to burn them. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks for reading

"Hush" is growing some Sweet Skunk right now and he has grown them before; pictures and comments. He is a very methodical grower, he's using several different lamps, go up to "Thread Title Search" and type in Hush and it will bring up all his grows, good pictures and very good repartee'. I just finished one and have two more finishing right now, used Jack's throughout, it was in the last month that they started packing it on, mostly in the Sun on my deck. Lots of pictures on the "Hush" site. They are very thirsty the last several weeks, great smell when jarred and opened.

Hey thanks for the shoutout, brother jump. Yes, I love me some sweet skunk and some northern skunk. Might be my two favorite varieties to grow at the moment! (Of course, I have an AK47 grow on deck, so that might change soon! :D)
