That cat is bad ass.

The dog is bad news. No growling or anything - just straight in.

right on for the feline, that mutt needs to be put down; it sought its prey and attacked from behind 100% unprovoked, that's a dangerous dog.......

I love cats, but hope they don't put the dog down. I am sure the owner is a dipshit, letting it roam the neighborhood . I hope it goes to a good home.

I think we can agree its mostly the owners fault though.I know it doesn't matter one bit but didn't catch what kinda dog it was.

This is exactly why you don't tie things to a Cat's tail for a laugh, you never know when you might need one to save your life. I remember a similar story from a couple of years ago where a cat protected his "family" by standing up to an alligator. Cats can be amazingly loyal to and defensive of their owners.

This was awesome, I'm glad the cat got under the car after, imagine if it had killed the cat too? While it was protecting the kid from the dog? There's sad stuff like that on liveleak, it makes you depressed. I don't go there anymore.
I love this cat. Way to go cat!

The original dangerous dogs act was a bit of a knee jerk reaction listing only certain breeds but they are sorting it out now in the UK.

The Government is bringing in compulsory microchipping for all dogs from 6 April 2016 to help reunite owners with lost or stolen pets, relieve the burden on animal charities and local authorities and promote responsible dog ownership by improving the traceability of dog and owner.

Irresponsible dog owners who allow their dog to attack people or assistance dogs will face tougher prison sentences from today.

Changes to the Dangerous Dogs Act will also mean dog owners can now face prosecution if their dog attacks a person in their home or on any private property, except if they attack a trespasser.

The maximum sentences for allowing a dog to attack someone have also been substantially increased.

The maximum prison sentences in England and Wales are now:
•Up to 14 years, from two years, for a fatal dog attack.
•Up to five years, from two years, for injury.
•Up to three years if an assistance dog is attacked.

Anything like this in the USA ?

Keep your dog under control at all times, and no one ever has a problem.

If that's a problem for you as a dog owner, you are the problem.

Would you leave a chainsaw lying around unattended? Take a lawnmower to the park, fire it up, and chat with folks a couple meters away? Leave a loaded gun unattended in your house?

I love the defense the owners always put up: "Geez, that's odd. I've been doing this for 30 years and never had a problem [until your son died]."
