hey ppl. is a safe addy really neccessary? what will happen if you send them to your own home? what can happen if the seeds are found? also do you need a safe addy when ordering hydroponic equipment? thanks

what can happen if the seeds are found?
over on OG they had a sticky in the security section of the forum in short it said if your beans are found by customs you'll recieve a letter of confiscated contraband instead of your beans. i remember reading post's where ppl said this was the case, they ordered beans customs found them and they got this letter instead of the shipment of beans.

I understand everyones concern of keeping their grow separate from ordering seeds, but honestly guys, has this ever really lead to anything? I had one order stopped by customs, and they simply sent me the packages with a note telling me why they can just take my shit. But then its over. So if they have your seeds, then you dont have anything illegal. If you get the illegal seeds, then they dont know you have them.
I guess I just dont see how buying seeds online and sending them to your grow can lead anyone there. The packaging is discrete or it would not make it through, so no postman is going to know. I think the point of having a safe address has been exagerated. It seems much more important to keep your grow a secret by simply NOT TELLING ANYONE. So many times people seem to be worried about weither the govt is watching them, yet they get stoned and tell everyone they know how they got pot growing in their basement.
But hey, I may be wrong.

I would agree.
Uncle Sam does not have the resourses to go after closet growers-just is not fiscally responcible.
And further-if recieving seeds was getting people busted-you would think you would have heard about it by now-in the few years I was at OG and here, I have never heard of anyone (except this doctor) getting busted becasue of a seed delivery.

i want to order but very hesitant have worked out the safe addy and all want to order online cause i think the mail isnt any safer any pointers from you green lovin brothas and sistas? my main hang up w/ online is the fact that billing your card the address has to match? is this true? or have our seed providers found a way around this? can yall help want to get this over with!!!!!!!!

IT HAPPENED ONCE!
In Chicago a Dentist was BUSTED for GROWING... not buying seeds!
They tracked him down threw the ADDRESS ussed for buying the seeds!
GET IT?
They send a letter telling you they confiscated contraband seeds, normally that all that happens. But I know for sure it happened once to some poor guy in Chi town.
Be safe not sorry, use a safe Addy.

We cannot be responsible for this and take note that we send free seeds with every order. 10 packs of seeds in 10 different growers gardens never have the same results. Unless we receive 3 or 4 independent claims of bad germination from the same seed lot we will not pull that variety from stock due to the inconsistencies in how various growers germinate seeds. To us it's obvious some are more successful than others.

That might not work. Some CC companies insist on sending to the billing address. All you have to do is get a prepaid CC with the address of the safe addy. Takes about 15 minutes to get it set up. They give you your number over the phone and send the hard card out later. Anyways you can use it right after you get off the phone.legalizekindtok said:

Po box, fake id or just get friendly with post office worker....
Many thousands of people obviously order seeds with their credit cards, have them delivered to their homes or business address. Customs obviously snags some of them- I got the green tape & notice myself over a year ago. If US customs were in the habit of breaking balls over small quantities of intercepted seeds, we'd just as obviously know about it.
Which doesn't change the fact that paying with cash or money order & having them shipped to a different address is theoretically better from a security POV.
OTOH, revealing that you grow, to anybody, is also a security risk. It depends on the relationship & level of trust, also their willingness to help you out.
I totally lucked out when friends revealed that they hold a PO box in the name of a dead person, a person they loved & helped some years ago. They offered to pick up whatever I have shipped there. I never even go near the box. I do them favors from time to time, so it all works out.
