Donkey Kong

I'm starting this thread about clone only Donkey Kong. She is an indica dom hybrid at about 80/20. Flowers for 60-65 days.

Genetics:

Orgnkid Banana x CO Kong aka Ohio Deathstar (reversed)

This plant has more potency than the banana and deathstar alone. Better structure and vigor of plant than parents as well. If you understand the parents and grandparents to Donkey Kong the reason for my selection in breeding might be pretty clear to you.

Essentially DK is a sensi star bush with super gooey banana sour d funk nugs. The finished smell/taste almost strangely resembles soy sauce at first. After closer inspection of the nugs or a toss in grinder. The flower reminds me exactly like banana nut bread fresh out of the oven just marinating the air around unsmoked. Plant is above average yeild exceeding both parents.

Hey MrGoodBudz, sounds like a nice strain. Always was interested in the Sensi Star and the Deathstar sounded great too. Mix that with the Banana OG and we get Donkey Kong! If you can throw up some more pics and a smoke report. Soy Sause that's a interesting smell but that banana nut bread smell in the air unsmoked would be great. Nice cross you made there, take care 1

The high on Dk is a bit complex. As long as I've been growing her and my work position have allowed me to get a lot of quality feedback from patients using this strain medically. The feedback generally starts with "that is the most potent stuff I have ever had!". Dk is a 1-2 toke for the seasoned smoker. The effects start very fast and almost completely cerebral. First 15min of effects are nothing short of trippy, vision impairment type of high. Then strangely things clear up nicely and your body quickly becomes a lethargic bag of love for the next 3-5hrs. This strain is non functional for a daytime use unless you really don't want to do anything.

ATM I only have veg at my home grow pics I posted were from last crop. I'll get some pic of my DKs in day 60 at work today and get them up ASAP.

Hey MrGoodBudz, sounds potent. 1 -2 tokes for a seasoned smoker, I may have to look into that (tolerance goes throught the roof sometimes). I'll be looking forward to the pics. Take care 1

That's why this DK is a fav to our patients. No ceiling. Very slow to build tolerance. More pics coming soon.

I found a beastly Dk hiding in the middle of my 60+ day flower group. Hard to get the pics but here they are! DK day 63. After 9 days of flush. Coming down in 4-5days. Grown in a warmer environment and more co2 than nug pics I posted previously.

Absolutely stunning.. the description
of the function sounds really spot on
like something worth time, especially
if grown on a pedestal or something!
Amazing piece of trait selection, that
frosted foxtail left a wet spot on my
right thigh for sure. Usually foxtails
don't have that much meat but DAMN.
I'm super glad to see you're still kicking
ass and taking names, I love my Sour
Power X Biker Kush saplings from Karma
I hope to find something comparably
great from this test stock. Is there a
topic for your specimen Ron Burgundy?

Hey MrGoodBudz, that DK is looking sick! Loving the foxtails (reminds me a little of the UK Cheese). Its looks like you are definitely on to something with your DK, great job on your selection. From the veg pics the Deathstar looks very branchy and the Banana OG not so much, is the structure of the DK more like the DS? You also said it has a no ceiling high that is very cerebral at 1st then its gets the body for hrs, sounds great. GL with that and take care 1

Thanks fellas! :tiphat: That dk in veg pics is about 10 days less veg than the deathstar. Dk stacks harder than the deathstar. If never toped or trained at all she is just a little tighter than her banana ogk mom. Will grow a somewhat dominant cola. I would say naturally a pretty leggy lady. IME she loves to be trained. But I top and fim every strain. I consistently get over 150g dry from dk in a 3gal pot of coco.

To update a little background as to why my deathstar is aka CO Kong. If you lived in CO anywhere from 5-8yrs ago you knew about Kong. It was the elite around trumping the blueberry and some GDP strain. To my knowledge the small group of people that moved here 8yrs ago from ohio brought the deathstar clone and renamed it to avoid being tracked to their new location. I have been growing banana ogk and "kong" for over 6 years being around the time I started the DK project. I'm pretty sure most of CO tokers did not start discover until the last 2-3yrs that our loved "kong" was deathstar. It was a confusing mess for a minute there but I don't think anyone was upset.

the only kong I've heard of is one that is meant to have mental high yields and I heard a mother plant got sold for 40k - is this the same one?

The CO "kong" is a massive yielder. I'm pretty sure that trait was acquired from the SensiStar. That trait also being one of the characteristics I was looking to pass the the Dk and basically bless the banana ogk with while still keeping a skunk funk from the sour d and promote the stellar smoke/flavor and bag appeal of the banana. Several years ago I was offered 5k for a cut of the deathstar aka kong. I don't know if what you are referencing is the same.

@SativaBreather: You mentioned this 'Kong'
strain in my Cannafornia Seeds test journal!
She's on your mind is she aye? If that story
is true that must have been one savage cut!!
I'm sure lots of stupid money has been offered
on plants, I know that glue cuts have given
off for like 400$ and another one I heard of
was 600$, but honestly if I was blessed with
the glue, I would respect the code behind it.

Sat Breath,
I think the Kong you are thinking of was around in late 90's, early 00's.
Was originally grown from beans sold by a long defunct seedbank called the Laughing Moon circa 1997. That is if my memory serves me correctly. Peace
