What's new

Its Trypp's first hydro grow.

My girls aren't looking quite as good as yours yet but I started mine from seed 7 days ago so I guess I can't expect much. Here they are in their new home, my first grow so the learning curve is intense. When I set up the covers on top of the pots, I really wasn't sure how the hell the rockwool would get watered, haven't had to water yet, guess I will see what happens. There are only eight plants in the picture. I started 10 but one broke when it popped and the other is a mother :)

yeah,I do it all on the cheap, average grow including power is about $125,a little more if I have to get nutes that run.

Nice Outame! Yeah I have kinda spent a little much building this initial set up, but I had to buy; light, bulb, panda film, buckets, lids, hosing, pump, seeds, nutes etc lol. All of that though I did for under 400$ so I am not complaining at all.
I just cant wait to do a big grow lol. :)

But once you have the gear, you are pretty much set.I bought a light combo last year that the ballast was made in China,it lasted less than a year.Soon as it went out,I went out and got a Galaxy select a watt dimmable ballast,an eye hortilux 1000 watt bulb and that is pretty much all the major expense I have had in the last 10 years or so.I still have my first grow light from 20 years ago,and it still works.I still have air pumps from 7 or 8 years ago that still work.

It is easy to sink a lot of money into growing,I still have to finish out my shed, but this crop will pay for that.So about $400 is good, all they need is air, light, nutrients, the right ph,and some darkness.

I did a big grow last summer, but I did it in per-ver and DWC,lotsa work 20 plants,4 nights of trimming, two five footers in buckets, the rest in per-ver from seed, had like 8 strains in there.Total dry was like 28 or so,plus the hash.I know what you mean about doing a big grow.

Outame, that was 28 dry pounds or OZ's? If pounds... I might not need to do such a big grow! Haha. Anyways plenty of new pics a-coming!

Alright so day 12 for my Trans Siberian babies, roots forming QUITE well imo! (I am in love with hydro now, simply because I can view EVERY stage of growth on the plant...... can't imagine anything better!).

Well, this will be a couple posts lol, thanks to pic limit.

Alright here is Plant 1, the plant that seems to be less grow happy than plant 2, but happier than plant 3 lol (not to say plant 3 is doing poorly, just an observation lol...)

Then, theres plant 2; awesome root growth and looking great!

Now, for plant 3. By no means being problematic, but not as great of root growth atm as the other 2. But still healthy, and the roots are starting to take off! (Plant 3 was also the plant I accidently disturbed by a lid pop when checking roots... :( )

And now for my Strawberry Blue, that I will be taking clones from come august or so . Looking great!
Looking great!

I am absolutely loving it. being able to see every aspect of growth is awesome, and for me its been a lot simpler than hand watering. Plus the growth rate is absolutely astronomical in comparison to my soil grow!

Okay! Almost 2 weeks since I updated these ladies! Oops.... But a good few pictures at least.

Yes, I see the brown on my roots. No, its not root rot, it's hydroton dust that collected from the top down watering the first week of their growth. (There is 0 smell, 0 slime, and plants are performing, imo, beautifully)

Here we go, first sets of pics.

Strawberry Blue Day 32

Trans Siberian Plant 1 (Still the strongest grower imo):

And Trans Siberian Plant 2, the steady grower:

And plant 3, the runt, which I think was more due to less light originally than the other 2;

This is just my $0.02, since I see you are using Dutch Master's. I have never used their base nutes, but I see you pretty much got everything but the Zone. A few years ago, I tested Zone against Roots Excel, and the Zone did very well and was way cheaper. I really like Zone as a rootzone conditioner in DWC/RDWC. I'm not going to tell you to go spend money, but if ya got a few extra bucks in yer pocket the next time you are at the grow store, grab a bottle of Zone. In a healthy system, you'll notice the positive effect on root growth pretty quickly - get ya some 'o dem big fat roots that look like bean sprouts. I'm actually a huge fan of both Zone and DM's foliar feed products.

First DWC grow is always, good, good shit. Enjoy the hell outta it>

Your roots will benefit from some red spectrum lighting

Double up on the air stones + a bigger pump

You can buy a few WW household led bulbs (Cree/Philips/FEIT...) to mix with the MH and a cheap vanity fixture. Easy to wire up and fire up

As mentioned, Zone will help.

I used to use the whole DM Gold line. Did a side-by -side vs a sample of Hydroponic-Research Veg+ loom, and never looked back

CO2, for so few plants? Unnecessary. Just breath on them as often as you can

I've never used it, and I think you've seen my grows

thanks guys. Knowing about zone is a good thing for sure, since I am changing out the buckets water (to get out the last of the hydroton dust as well as rinsing it off the roots) this weekend as well as get paid... I will definitely pick a bottle up of the Zone. Either that or I was thinking of grabbing the Great White powder. Any opinions?

Also Flora; I have 2 55w 3k T5's supplementing the MH in there, which I actually added to benefit my blooming plant, but good to know it will help on root development. Have you seen my other grow since i have updated it Pet? I know you posted on it like a month ago lol.
